Born to Peggy Prescott and Nathaniel Prescott on July 29, 1993, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is exceptionally proud of his cultural background and ancestry. His late mother, Peggy Prescott, was European American, while his father, Nathaniel, is African American. And, because of his racial background, Prescott has become a role model for many who share his ethnicity, inspiring them to pursue their dreams.

Even Prescott is proud of being an African American, believing it allows him to connect with everyone. Interestingly, he learned this from his own family experiences. Earlier, during a candid interview with USA Today, Prescott revealed that he often visited his “white grandparents’ house” and enjoyed spending time with his “black grandma.”

Apart from that, earlier he has also shed light on some of the challenges of being a black man. “I’ve been in situations where I was the only black guy. We’re in a time now where nobody wants to see that, but it still happens. Depending on where you come from, it happens. To be able to wipe that clean and see and live both sides, it’s just who I am. Being mixed allows me to connect with everyone,” he stated.

Besides that, he believes that being biracial has given him a deeper understanding of different perspectives. “For me, it’s not hard. I’m blessed because it’s natural,” Dak remarked.

Dak Prescott remains steadfast in his beliefs. Interestingly, it is due to the influence of his late mother, Peggy, who played a significant role in shaping his religious views. In many instances, Prescott’s faith has been openly displayed both on and off the field, even if there is no verified information on certain aspects of his religious practices. After his mother passed away from colon cancer in 2013, when he was just 20 years old, his belief in God helped him cope with the adversity.

Not only this, his faith was also crucial when his brother, Jace Prescott, tragically committed suicide, as it helped him manage the situation and cope with it.

Even two years back, in 2022, Prescott’s faith became a topic of conversation after he re-signed a contract extension with the Cowboys following his recovery from a severe injury. “Faith is everything,” he stated.
