The New Orleans Saints tried to put up a fight against the Kansas City Chiefs, but added more to the losses after a 26-13 defeat. Derek Carr tried too hard to level the scores, but to his dismay, the Chief’s defense played on another level to tonight. As if the loss wasn’t disappointing for the Saints fans, they piled up some major injuries.
One of those injuries came early in the game and the CB Will Harris bore the brunt of it. Saints’ fans might have suffered a heart attack when the cornerback went down. Luckily for them, he got up with his own power and made his way to the sidelines. There have been speculations about his injury early in the game, however, it became clearer exactly what it was later.

Harris’ injury was declared a problem with his hamstring. It happened after he tried to chase Xavier Worthy, but went down instead. He was lying on the sidelines while trainers and medical staff tried to diagnose his condition. The CB was carted to the locker room later. Harris is a veteran cornerback, and this is his first season with the Saints after he migrated from the Lions after his 5-season stint.
Saints safety Will Harris down on the Kansas City sideline. He’s on his feet now and slowly walking across the field. That would be a big blow for New Orleans.

He had a total of 2 tackles tonight and couldn’t do much else after he was ruled out of the game. The veteran cornerback has recorded one interception throughout the season and has also defended 3 passes in his short but developing career with the New Orleans Saints. While we’re on the topic of defense, let’s crunch some numbers.
The Saints defense allowed Patrick Mahomes to put up 331 receiving yards and another 139 rushing yards, while also giving up two rushing touchdowns in the process. However, things didn’t turn out to be so good for Derek Carr, the Saints QB.

Derek Carr adds to Saints’ setbacks
Carr suffered an oblique injury in the last moments of the game. He was hit by Chamarri Conner in the fourth quarter and the injury left him hobbling. Carr went to the locker room to get checked out; however, he was ruled unfit to play the rest of the game. Before leaving, he threw for 165 yards, two touchdowns and threw an interception that landed in the hands of Bryan Cook.
Carr might have a lot of things to learn from this game. Even though he was sacked just once, he took 8 QB hits and was pressured on 51.7% of his drop backs. The QB took to the podium later and suggested that his injury is “not good,” and he might get an MRI done tomorrow. The QB revealed later that it was a non-contact injury.

He was also disappointed in his performance on MNF. “I couldn’t do what I needed to do, in the simplest form,” Carr said after the game and iterated that there wasn’t enough time left to clutch the game. While the Kansas City Chiefs will enjoy their bye week, the Saints will be hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hoping to improve the 2-3 record.
