Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa has been embarrassing tonight against the Buffalo Bills during their humbling 31-10 defeat.. Even the Dolphins legend didn’t hesitate to call out the QB and his teammates for their performance. However, for the 26-year-old QB, things went from bad to worse.
In an attempt to salvage the game for the Dolphins, Tua made a lunging rush to secure 1st and Goal and hurt himself in a dangerous collision during the 3rd quarter of the game. The QB accidentally clattered himself against the Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin‘s knee which forced him down. Although he was able to get back up, he exited the game and headed straight to the locker. The team lost all their hopes for a bounceback in the game with their 53M+ QB out with a concussion. Following this injury, Skylar Thompson entered the game to replace the starter.
Tagovailao has had an NFL career stacked with injuries, although he managed to play all 17 games for his side last season. Tonight’s concussion was the third one of the QB’s career. Back in 2022, he had two other concussions and was out for four games as a result.

After making back-to-back appearances in the playoffs, the hopes are high for the Dolphins to go all the way and win the league this season. The team has also shown their faith in the young quarterback in the offseason, offering him a $212.4 million contract extension until 2028. Now, with this new concussion, it’s certain that Targovailoa will certainly miss some games before making his way back to the gridiron. If the concussion is serious, then it will surely haunt the Dolphins for the rest of the season.
Tua Tagovailoa’s injury adds up to Dolphins’ already injury-prone season
Tua Tagovailoa’s departure from Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills with a concussion has raised the concerns over Dolphins’ situation this season.
The team has already lost their veteran running back and 2023 NFL rushing touchdown leader Raheem Mostert to a chest injury during the Week-1 win vs. Jaguars. They are also short of their young wide receiver Mike Washinghton due to a muscle injury.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Tua Tagovailoa's injury a result of reckless play-calling by the Dolphins' coaching staff?
Have an interesting take?
In all accounts, this doesn’t seem to be a favourable situation for the Dolphins who are just in the second week of this new season. Now, with Tagovailoa injured too, Mike McDaniel and his boys surely need to find a solution to fill these holes in their lineup and hold their fort until the players return.
