Despite not practicing all week, left tackle Terron Armstead somehow manages to make himself available for the games. Going into Sunday’s clash vs. the Jets, Armstead was questionable to start in Miami. However, the 33-year-old did manage to return, but his stay was short-lived.

During the game’s first drive, Armstead had to leave the pitch because of a lingering knee injury. Yes, that’s the one causing all the problems with his questionable availability this season. Well, the veteran LT even tried to come back on the next offensive drive. But it didn’t do him any good. He had to go back on the sidelines for the second time, which might have taken a toll on him.

Armstead was captured getting emotional on the bench where he was sitting all alone. At the other end, his teammates were all on the gridiron, trying to keep the Jets at bay. It must be absolutely heartbreaking for Armstead, who had only missed 1 game this year. But his knee is clearly an issue. And the 33-year-old must let it heal before rushing into the field again next week.

Although there aren’t any updates yet on the time period he would be sidelined, the Dolphins might have to do it without him for some time. On the opening drive, the Phins went for 70 yards, which was completed by a TD through De’Von Achane. Without Terron Armstead on the field, the Dolphins might have to rely on right tackle Kendall Lamm. Otherwise, they also have right tackle Patrick Paul, whom they selected in the 2nd round of this year’s draft. As for the game, the Dolphins have to win this one to stay in the race of playoffs against their divisional rivals Jets.

This Sunday’s clash is set to decide the Jets’ fate for this season. Although they are almost out of the playoff race with a record of 3-9, they are even trailing in head-to-head with the Dolphins. Taking on each other for the 118th time on Sunday, the Dolphins lead the series 60-56-1. Over the last 13 games in the NFL, the Dolphins have claimed 11 of them. The last time the Jets won in Miami was back in 2014. Even their QB, Tua Tagovailoa, can extend his record against the Jets to 6-0 with a win today. This shows the dominance they have over their divisional rivals.

What’s your perspective on:

Terron Armstead's resilience is inspiring, but should the Dolphins risk his health for a quick return?

Have an interesting take?

As for the Phins’, they would be meeting Aaron Rodgers in a Jets jersey for the first time ever. His impact would play a key role in stopping the Dolphins on their track today. However, considering the way they are performing this season, especially Rodgers, it doesn’t look like they have any hope left. After 14 weeks of the NFL, they are playing to save their face from an utterly embarrassing season. As the game concludes its first half, the Dolphins lead 15-13. And they could be on their way to add yet another win to their tally this afternoon.
