The Seahawks had a great start this season, with a 3-game win-streak, till the Detroit Lions crushed them last week. They’re still on top of the NFC West table, but sharing space with the 49ers, they’ll want to take no chances. So they’ll be keen on pounding down the New York Giants, and are confident they can do so. Things are neck and neck right now, and there’s no way of telling which way things will end.
Unfortunately, cornerback Riq Woolen seemed to have suffered some form of injury to his lower right leg in the second quarter. He had to limp his way over to the medical tent, but didn’t end up spending too long there.
After being down on his back for a moment, team doctor looking at his lower right leg, CB Riq Woolen up and walking slowly to #Seahawks sideline, into blue medical tent.

Woolen is now back on the field, but sadly the same cannot be said for his teammate Uchenna Nwosu. Nwosu, who was playing his first game in 12 months, seems to be out with a thigh injury, and won’t be returning to the field.

Nwosu was already suffering from a knee injury that had kept him from playing the first 4 games of the season. Thankfully, his knee seems to be fine, and he seemed normal, standing on the sidelines. Woolen seems to have got off lucky, he’s had no major injuries in the course of his career, and the Seahawks will be hoping that doesn’t change.
Will injuries prove a major setback to the Seahawks?
The two teams do seem evenly matched on paper, maybe even with a slight advantage to the Seahawks. That’s not really coming across on the field though, with the Giants’ Daniel Jones plain outclassing Geno Smith well into the third quarter. Will there be a last minute turn around? It’s not out of the question.

But it’s definite that suffering injuries on the field can sap the morale of team mates. How well are you going to play if you’re seeing your buddies limping off the field? Football’s a brutal sport, and safe play should be encouraged. But get too in your head about it and you’ll turtle up and do anything to avoid full contact. Can’t have that at this level, not when you’re constantly behind on score. Let’s hope the injuries don’t hamper the Seattle Seahawks aggressive mindset, and they can take on the New York Giants.
