The playoffs are here! The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round at Lincoln Financial Field. And with a home-game advantage, an early lead, and impressive plays, Philly won the matchup. However, on the other hand, just before ending on the losing side, the Packers had another major setback.
In the fourth quarter, Packers’ center Josh Myers went down with a leg injury. He was lying on the field as the medical official attended him. At that time, the Packers were trailing 10-22 against the Eagles in Sunday’s wildcard game. Myers was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg, and the look on his face said it all. Well, it’s not only about his injury, it’s also about the timing which couldn’t have been worse.

Myers, a 2021 second-round pick, is approaching free agency with his rookie contract almost up. Hence, this injury didn’t just affect the team’s Super Bowl dreams but also put a cloud over his future in the franchise.
Nevertheless, Josh Myers’s injury forced the franchise to bring in rookie Jacob Monk who, by that time, hadn’t played an NFL snap. However, the team eventually overall failed to make it through the game, disappointing everyone in Green Bay, especially coach Matt LaFleur.
What’s the update on Josh Myers from Matt LaFleur?
No doubt, the Packers had a rough night on Sunday. They already lost Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Elgton Jenkins, and Dovante Wyatt to injuries. And the last one to be affected was Josh Myers, the same play in which they sacked Jordan Love. It happened when only 3 minutes and 12 seconds were left in the game.

Hence, when the reporters asked the head coach Matt LaFleur about Myers in a post-game presser, he said, “He’s better than what I thought assessing the situation on the field.” Apart from this, the head coach refrained from giving further information on his injury. But Myers himself addressed the issue, as he noted, that initially, he thought that he broke his leg. However, now, via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, “He thinks he avoided any ACL or ankle injury. The concern is possible lower leg fracture but if so they think it’s hairline.” His injury will really be a big concern for him.
Nevertheless, as the team is already out from the Super Bowl run, Josh Myers has plenty of time to get himself treated well.
