Week 2 it is and Sunday afternoon NFL is on! It’s the Green Bay Packers taking on the Indianapolis Colts, with lots of developments going on in the game. The news comes for the tackle Jordan Morgan who is looking not so good for the Packers at the moment.
Jordan Morgan is facing some tough luck during the matchup against the Colts. After dealing with a shoulder injury for two weeks during camp, Morgan’s injury has flared up again. However, it is not yet known if the injury is a rather fresh one or a continuation of the previous one. The Packers’ official X account posted, “T/G Jordan Morgan has a shoulder injury and is questionable to return.” Green Bay offensive lineman was officially ruled out for the rest of Sunday’s game against the Colts.

The injury occurred in the second quarter as Morgan was rotating in and out at a right guard with teammate Sean Rhyan. Initially listed as “questionable” after halftime, the team quickly downgraded Morgan to “out” as it became clear he couldn’t continue.
Morgan, the 25th overall pick in the 2024 draft, had already missed time during training camp with a shoulder issue. Matt Schneidman of The Athletic noted the 23-year-old had dealt with the previous injury for two weeks. With Morgan out, Rhyan will handle all the right guard snaps for the rest of the game.

The Packers are left with just two backups on the offensive line—rookie Jacob Monk and tackle Kadeem Telfort—as they push through the game. Their Head Coach Matt LaFleur is expected to provide an update on Morgan’s condition after the game. Till then, the Packers fans are hoping it’s not a long-term setback for the young lineman, whose presence is key to the team’s offense.

Jordan Morgan, the Green Bay Packers first-round rookie, has already made waves with his strong performances. Despite missing a significant chunk of training camp due to a shoulder injury, he’s shown his value. Morgan played 28 snaps in the Packers’ preseason opener against the Eagles, showcasing his ability at right guard. While Sean Rhyan started the game, the Packers’ tackle stepped in and delivered a solid performance, especially in the run game, earning a 67.7 PFF grade—significantly better than Rhyan’s 59.8.

Morgan’s strong run-blocking ability (66.6 PFF grade) makes him a critical piece for the Packers’ offensive line. As Green Bay relies heavily on its rushing game, his absence due to another shoulder injury against the Colts is a big setback. With Morgan out, Rhyan takes over at right guard, but his pass protection and run-blocking struggles could hurt Green Bay.
At the time of writing this, the Packers are currently up 13-0 against the Colts after Malik Willis connected with tight end Tucker Kraft for a key first down. That drive set up a field goal, while the defense stepped up big, stopping the Colts on a crucial fourth-down attempt early in the third quarter. However, with only two backup linemen remaining—rookie Jacob Monk and tackle Kadeem Telfort—the Packers’ depth is being tested.
