Is the Browns' season doomed with Watson and Owusu-Koramoah out of action?

The problems aren’t ending for the Browns. They have already lost Deshaun Watson to an Achilles injury. He is out for the season. The week 8 SNF game against the Ravens was bad for their linebacker, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. It was a terrifying injury. The hit was huge.

During the 3rd quarter, with 38 seconds remaining, the LB was hit by Derrick Henry. He attempted a tackle on the Ravens RB, but lowered his head. When he came from the back, his head collided with Henry’s right shoulder. He fell to the ground immediately and had to be carted off the field. While being taken out, he raised his right fist. Doctors also removed his facemask before sending him off.

The LB was taken from the stadium to the local hospital for a checkup. Everyone is speculating he injured his neck. Though Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah showed movement to all extremities, everyone is worried about the injury and how long it would take for recovery. It was an enormous blow after all.

The 2023 Pro Bowler’s loss could drastically lower the locker room confidence. It can also impact their next games. They are already struggling with a 1-6 win-loss record. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has provided them stability on the gridiron. In August this year, the Browns signed a 3-year $39 million contract extension. But today’s injury might put him off the team for the next few weeks.

This would be their second colossal blow in the last few weeks. They are reeling after losing their main quarterback.

Even after not performing for a straight 7 weeks, Dawg Pound was heartbroken in the week 7 game against the Bengals. Their main quarterback, Deshaun Watson, suffered a non-contact injury, which was later diagnosed as Achilles. Today’s game also had the same scenes.

When Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was being carted off the field today, everyone was reminded of Watson’s injury. The quarterback underwent surgery on the 25th of October. He is out for the entire season. This can also happen with the linebacker. But results or any further updates about his injury are awaited.
