QB Jalen Hurts suffered a gruesome finger injury in the embarrassing 27-10 loss against the Giants. Hurts left the field after dislodging his middle finger, and it didn’t look right. The Eagles had one of the worst starts of this season. The Giants scored points at will and took an unassailable first-half lead of 24-0. Just before half-time, QB Hurts received a devastating blow.
The Eagles secured their first point on the back of a field goal, coming at one minute and remaining in the third quarter. Not a great day for the Eagles on the field. In the first quarter, AJ Brown left the field after injuring his knee. Then it was Jalen Hurts who got caught up in a terrible mess.

With 14 minutes remaining in the second quarter, with the ball in hand, QB Hurts just got a second late in throwing the ball. As the ball flew away, the Giants defender who was looking to hit the QB, went to Hurts with full force. The defender’s hand smashed right into the middle finger of hurts. Hurts left the ground right after. His finger looked completely out of place.

Warren Sharp shared the video of the incident on X with the caption, “Jalen Hurts middle finger does not look right.” He was taken to the blue tent and given first aid. The QB made his return to the field in the second half, but it made no difference as the damage was already done. The Giants eventually won the one-sided battle. After the game, Hurts gave his insights on the situation going forward.

In the post-match presser, Hurts admitted, “He’s never experienced anything like his finger injury today.” When he asked what happened, he said, “It just popped out.” On the recovery part, Jalen Hurts didn’t give much thought and said that he is going to take it “day by day”. The QB is definitely resilient as he came back on the gridiron after the injury. Thankfully, he will get ample time to recover before the playoffs arrive. The Eagles need to be in their best shape for the knockouts as they have lost crucial momentum at the wrong time.
