Philly fans didn’t just roll out the red carpet for the Rams in the divisional round—they brought the fireworks! And why wouldn’t they? They literally plastered Jared Verse’s comments on the big board for everyone to see. Ouch. Not exactly the warmest welcome for LA, huh? But while all eyes were on the drama, Jalen Hurts stole the spotlight just a week after clearing concussion protocol. Sounds scary, right?
During the late third quarter, Hurts was sacked by Desjuan Johnson and Jaylen McCollough—yeah, the same guys who’ve been a complete headache for the Eagles‘ offense on Sunday. After he was sacked with a hip drop, the quarterback had a bit of a scare when he hurt his knee. Now, that’s a moment that had everyone talking, especially the Philly fans.
Fingertip on Mahomes, Roughing the Passer
Strangled, abused, destroyed, hip drop tackle… no Roughing the Passer for Jalen Hurts

After being sacked on a second-and-15 play from the Rams’ 27, Hurts stayed in the game. He handed off to Saquon Barkley on third down, but couldn’t bear the pain for quite too long. Following the Eagles’ 44-yard field goal, Hurts quit the field, limping straight to the medical tent.
Now picture this: the Eagles QB suffered a concussion just a couple of weeks before the postseason when taking a hit to the head during a tackle against the Commanders. And now the Commanders are awaiting their opponents in the NFC Championship game and Jalen Hurts is giving a pretty good scare to the fans. And the way things have shaped up, the Eagles have secured a spot to the next round to meet the Commanders in the NFC Championship round.
Thankfully, his knee injury wasn’t anything serious. Hurts came out just a few minutes later with a knee brace, did a quick warm-up, and was ready to get back in action after the Rams punted on their possession. They avoided a serious situation. Following his return to the field, the QB took another sack for the safety. His sixth against the Rams today.
Meanwhile, it’ll be a major concern for the Eagles if they lose their starting QB. Once again and at the worst time possible.
Jalen Hurts joined his running back

The Eagles had a kind of nightmare in the divisional round on Sunday. Of course, we’re not talking about the game results. That indeed worked out in their favor. But the dark clouds of injuries were looming over their locker room. Why? What happened? Well, as it turns out, the star QB isn’t the only one who is under the radar of an injury ahead of the Championship game. The running back, Saquon Barkley gave him company.
In the second quarter, Barkley hit a helmet on his left wrist before his solid 16-yard third-down conversion. Following a pain in his wrist, the running back had to exit the field to get the medical staff’s attention. Was it a sprain or a fracture? That was the most asked question for some moments out there in the Lincoln Financial Field.
Though Barkley had to miss a few plays, he returned to the field after the Eagles finished their final drive of the first half. And the RB picked off where he left the game. After the 16-yard third down conversion, he rushed for 12 yards on the next 2 receptions while recording another 2 on the next carry.

And the highlight of the game? Bet you couldn’t miss that. The first quarter and third down when Barkley took the Eagles flight and landed straight in the end zone without getting touched. Wanna guess who was watching all this mastery from the front-row seat? It’s none other than Jared Verse who unintentionally started this Eagles vs the Rams rivalry for the divisional round. But at the end of the day, it’s Jalen Hurts and Co. who had the final laugh. Though in this case, it’s most probably the Philly fans.
