Are the 49ers' Super Bowl dreams crumbling with each injury on the field?

The Niners Empire is losing its soldiers. During the week 8 matchup against the Cowboys, many players of the 49ers got injured. It was a tough sight for the Faithful. They have already seen their team lose to the Chiefs in the revenge game last week. Now, their running backs Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo have suffered injuries.

During the first quarter, Jordan Mason injured his shoulder. He looked in pain and even went to the sidelines for a couple of minutes. However, he later returned to the field. In the 2nd quarter, the running back went to the medical tent for further checkup. Before leaving the field, he had 6 rushes for 18 yards. He was marked as questionable to return.

As Mason’s replacement, the team went ahead with the rookie running back Isaac Guerendo. He looked in fine form and quickly gained yards. At 12:57 mark on the clock in the 3rd quarter, he scored his first NFL touchdown. Later, he also went to the medical tent for evaluation. The offense is crumbling.

Guerendo looked great as Jordan Mason’s replacement when he was on the field. The rookie had 14 carries for 85 yards. His touchdown also gave them the lead over the Cowboys. But the fans were worried. The Niners are already struggling with injuries to key players like Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey.

However, the injuries didn’t affect them heavily as they managed to win the game by 30-24.

The 49ers held off to win despite Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo’s injuries

After 8 weeks, the Niners are sitting at a 4-4 win-loss record. It was a much-needed win. They are now in the 2nd place in their division. However, they have to be very careful as they are in the 10th position in NFC after week 8. They have the time now to reassess their strategies and check out the injured players. Week 9 is a bye week.

Even in the running back departments, they can check out their options for future games. While Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo are being evaluated for injuries, Christian McCaffrey has been giving positive signs about his recovery. He was seen talking to the coach and players during the practice sessions last week and is highly probable to return during the week 10 matchup against the Buccaneers.

The head coach Kyle Shanahan has a major task at hand. The season is halfway done. But they would have to improve their performances. Week 8’s win must have given a boost to the locker room. Can they maintain the momentum? The Faithful fully trust their team to break free of past results and go all-in for the Super Bowl. The times ahead will be much more exciting as each game will be crucial.
