On the road to face the Lions in Detroit, the Jaguars have nowhere to hide in week 11. As the game ended 52-6 in favor of the Lions, it’s the first time the Jags have conceded more than 50 points this season. Seeing them lose in such a way is truly embarrassing for their fans in Jacksonville. But it’s not the only thing they had to witness on Sunday. Their wide receiver, Gabe Davis, found himself injured late into the third quarter.

With the clock set at 2:56, Davis fell to the ground for a non-contact injury. Within seconds, the Jags medical staff tendered to his agony. However, his injury looked like a real concern, as the trainers had to help him off the pitch. Well, during the final quarter, when they were already down by more than 30 points. Davis was officially ruled out with a knee injury.

His afternoon ended after getting targeted just three times while catching a single pass in Detroit. As for Davis, he hasn’t been targeted more than 10 times even once this season. Signing a three-year $39 million contract in the summer, Davis has been nothing but awful. Over the first nine games, he only caught 19 passes for 236 yards and just two TDs.

Well, those aren’t the only numbers that show Davis’ lack of impact in the Jags’ offense. Only running for 3 yards this week, Gabe is yet to eclipse 50 yards this season. And those aren’t the outputs his team expected when they picked him off from free agency. With Gabe missing from the Jags’ offense, he only adds to their woes in the receiver room. Before him, the Jags had already placed Christian Kirk on the injury reserves with a broken collarbone.

And it doesn’t look like both will be returning to the field anytime soon. This knee injury isn’t the only problem Davis is dealing with right now. Going into the clash on Sunday, Davis was already nursing another injury.

Going back to week 9, as the Jags were preparing for their Vikings clash. There were plenty of questionable players on their list. Trevor Lawrence, who was once deemed a player, who doesn’t miss games, had to sit out today’s clash in Detroit as he tries to recover from a left shoulder injury. Replacing him at the center was former-first rounder Mac Jones. However, he failed to perform on Sunday at the chance given.

Recording just 138 yards with a single interception, Jones didn’t score a single TD today. Even Gabe Davis, who injured his shoulder against the Packers in week 8, missed the Jags clash in week 9. However, he did manage to play against the Vikings, as Jags coach Doug Pederson shared, “Gabe Davis should be fine. Again, it was just the shoulder. He just lost some feeling in there and we were just kind of waiting for that to come back a little bit during the game.”

Now, after battling through a shoulder injury, Davis has a knee issue to deal with after Sunday. This would be a huge blow for the Jaguars, who have now lost their ninth game of the season.
