The San Francisco 49ers just can’t shake off injury scares. The due against the LA Rams has caused a major scare early on. A considerable number of players are already out or injured and something similar could have happened to Fred Warner. The Niners linebacker got injured and left the game for a while. He grabbed his legs and headed to the sideline to be checked out.

Matt Covers, The Athletic’s correspondent for the 49ers reported, “Fred Warner slowly walking off the field. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles in at MLB.” But Warner wasn’t the only one who left the game. Apparently, Dee Winters, the LB was also facing some problems. But luck might be in San Francisco 49ers’ side this time because Warner returned after a game or two.

The injury happened in the first quarter when “Fred Warner went down grabbing his knee but got back up and walked off field,” per The SF Niners on X. But we recently discovered something about Fred Warner that might send chills down the spine of any football fan. That’s because Warner has been playing with a fractured ankle all this time.

Remember the September 29 win against the New England Patriots? That means this is his 10 consecutive game he’s playing with an ankle injury. That’s mind boggling, to be honest. But Warner was so nonchalant about it and made it seem like it was something normal.

“It’s something I deal with every game,” Warner said. “I get on that table before every game and get it shot up every single game just to be able to roll. But it’s not an excuse. It’s just what it is. That’s the NFL. You’re not going to be healthy. You’ve got to go out there, you’ve got to find ways to execute, to play at a high level and to win every single week.”

And you know what? It’s raining in Levi’s Stadium and injuries tend to get worse in cold conditions. The good thing, though, is that Dre Greenlaw has finally returned to the field after 10 months! He’s been rehabbing his Achilles since the last Super Bowl. But let’s talk about Fred Warner’s injury some more.

Fred Warner is tough as nails!

Warner injured his ankle near the end of the first half of the game against the Pats. But before he went out, he recorded 7 tackles and a pick-six. But Warner has been playing ever since and has amassed 54 solo tackles, 1 sack, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions in that time. Despite this, Warner continues to play, trying to keep the 49ers’ playoff hopes alive.

“Any time you fracture a bone, if you just continue to play on it, the bone is usually not going to be able to heal itself,” Warner said. “So, just got to continue to just fight through.” We don’t know whether to call this move asinine or just an attempt to be a daredevil. Either way, it just shows how committed Warner is to his team.

The thing is, the linebacker had to power through this because the Niners also missed their cornerstone defense player, Nick Bosa for a stretch of three games. The camaraderie that the Niners have is just epic.
