Oh man, the Cowboys found themselves in a real pickle against the Falcons, and it got even messier when they lost their star quarterback, Dak Prescott. You know, the guy with the biggest paycheck on the team (not just within the America’s Team, but in the league).
That’s right—things were going south faster than a quarterback under pressure when Dak went down with a hamstring injury. ESPN’s Todd Archer broke the news, saying, “Dak Prescott is out with a hamstring injury, Cooper Rush is in.” Yikes! Talk about a blow to the offense.

And it doesn’t stop there. By the looks of it, Prescott’s dealing with some issues with his right hand. The throwing arm… Oof! If you’re from the Cowboys Nation, you’ve got to be feeling a mix of frustration and dread right now.
The team was already trying to bounce back from a rough patch (climbing the 3-5 start is never easy), and losing your starting QB mid-game is like throwing gasoline on a fire.
And at the time when this happened, the Cowboys were getting schooled by the Falcons, down 27-13 (ultimately losing 27-21). Losing Prescott for the rest of the game was like taking away the quarterback’s playbook—just the luck playing games for a team trying to turn the tide.
If not Dak Prescott, then who?

The Cowboys’ Sunday in Atlanta went from a headache to a heartache when Dak Prescott went down with a hamstring injury. It’s never easy to cope with it, but we would hand it to the staff for making the right call to keep him on the bench instead of forcing him back into action. But it showed… The Falcons walked away with the win, improving to 6-3, while Dallas was left staring at a 3-5 record and scrambling for an NFC Wild Card spot. Ouch!
So, how long will Dak be sidelined? Injuries are part of the game, and even the best are not immune. With a big matchup against the Eagles looming, the Cowboys need to make a decision and quick. Sure, Dak’s not having a typical Dak season. But the man has a career passer rating of over 100 against Philly, tossing 24 touchdowns to just eight interceptions.
I mean, for better or for worse, if facing the Eagles can turn Dak’s season as well as the Cowboys’ season, then we bet that they would want him to suit up. But… that’d be a naïve call if at all it’s a serious issue.

So, if Prescott can’t go, the Cowboys will likely turn to Cooper Rush, who stepped in against Atlanta. Rush knows the playbook like the back of his hand, but can he step up against Nick Sirianni’s Eagles? His only start against them didn’t exactly inspire confidence—he completed under 50% of his passes for 181 yards and a touchdown.
Leaving Mike McCarthy with exactly not a lot of cards to play with. It’s either Dak Prescott’s playing and voila the focus would be on other areas. Or he’s going to have to play Rush and scratch his head.
