Is C.J. Mosley's injury the final nail in the coffin for the Jets this season?

We have to get our mind right because it is all mental going forward.” Who would have thought these words by Jets linebacker CJ Mosley (after week 1 game) will become true in such a way? With 8 minutes 40 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, Jets and Titans are tied in the week 2 game at 17 each. But the LB didn’t expect one very obvious thing. The game can turn physical in less than a second.

During the week 2 game against the Titans, the Jets linebacker injured his right foot in the 2nd quarter. He has been carted to the sidelines. While he is talking to players on the sidelines (in the 3rd quarter), his return to the field is doubtful.

With more than 150 tackles in the last three consecutive seasons, he is one of the best in business this year. With a decade of experience, CJ Mosley can easily identify shortcomings. After 32-19 season opener loss to the 49ers, he said, “They did a really good job running the ball and getting the 4- or 5-yard chunks when they needed to. Then that created the third-and-shorts, and that is when it becomes really hard.” But today’s development changes it.

There is a long season ahead of us. And Mosley is one of the key Jets players out there. A captain of the defense, the team wouldn’t want to risk him with most of season left. Though he might not play again in today’s game, Jets have the best shot at Super Bowl with him in the playing team.

The linebacker was happy after the arrival of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The reason is simple. It gives him and the team a better chance of winning the Super Bowl. CJ Mosley has been instrumental in defense since joining them in 2019, barring 2019 (groin injury) and 2020 (COVID-19). However, the 5X Pro Bowler needs a trophy.

This year, he is ready to sacrifice everything. When the team told him that a pay cut was required to keep him in the roster, he happily agreed. After signing the revised deal with $13.25 million out of $17.25 million salary and one extra year, the LB said, “When I say I don’t care about the money when I get on the football field, I just want to win and win with my teammates.

The season is in its initial stages right now. And the Jets need to stay at the top of their game. Can Rodgers finish the game in their favor? Will CJ Mosley return in time? Stay tuned while we bring the updates.
