One of the best teams in the NFL visited the Commanders this week. And the 49ers were in their groove, winning the game in the fourth quarter. After an offensive play from the 49ers in the red zone, Holmes was conversing with former Commander Trent Williams. But once their conversation was done, Holmes collapsed to the ground.

His teammates and fans were shocked. Soon trainers rushed to the CB, and he was taken back to the locker room. Even though during the play, Holmes did not look to sustain any injuries to his head, the Commanders ruled him out with a concussion. He also had a look of confusion on the cart as he was being treated.

Still in his sophomore year in the NFL, Holmes would now be subjected to the concussion protocols by the NFL. The protocols state that a concussed player cannot play for the next 2 weeks. And with only one week left in this season, Holmes’ season is finished. But what’s in the bag for him and the Commanders?

The Commanders need serious changes

The last few decades have not been kind to the Commanders. Their last championship win came in 1991 and in the last decade, the team has seen the playoffs only twice. The last time they were in the playoffs was in the 2020 season, but they lost the wildcard round game against the Buccaneers.
