Is Aaron Rodgers' era with the Jets already showing signs of a disastrous downfall?

Safe to say that Russell Wilson is steering the Steelers ship just fine. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, though, aren’t doing very well. Not only did Rodgers throw two interceptions to Beanie Bishop by the time the game progressed to the third quarter, but the Jets defense also took a hit on a play where Ashtyn Davis got injured.

1:19 remained in the third quarter, and Russell Wilson had to quickly get rid of the ball on a third-and-eight. He passed the ball down to the Steelers RB Jaylen Warren who crossed many Jets defenders before Ashtyn Davis got in the way. The Jets DB dived in for a tackle and tried to bring Warren down by trying to get his legs. However, he got hit in the head instead and was slow to get up. Davis was taken to the medical tent for further analysis. The New York Jets took to X and posted that “Ashtyn Davis is being evaluated for a concussion.”

Before leaving, the Jets safety recorded two total tackles. However, one thing is for sure. With or without Davis, the infamous Jets defense crumbled and they let Russ cook. By the time the game reached the fourth quarter, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a “two score lead.”  Speaking of this obscure Aaron Rodgers reference, let’s talk about his performance tonight.

When the game ended, the New York Jets quarterback recorded 276 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. The Steelers defense did a phenomenal job of keeping Aaron Rodgers at bay. Even Davante Adams, who was controversially traded to the New York team, couldn’t make much of a difference.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, put up a shocking performance on both sides of the ball.

Have an interesting take?

This was Russell Wilson’s first game since last Christmas, where he lost to the New England Patriots. However, the MNF game at the Acrisure Stadium saw a different version of Russ, who threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed 16-29 of his passes and only took a sack throughout the game.

Wilson threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to George Pickens in the second quarter and ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter. While Russ’ Steelers debut wasn’t short of anything commendable, there’s someone else we need to give credit to. That’s Beanie Bishop, the Steelers cornerback.

He’s a rookie who low-key made history tonight. His first career interceptions came off Aaron Rodgers, which is sublime in its own right. But coming back to the Steelers’ QB situation, the 37-15 win against the Jets settles the debate. However, Justin Fields has done a phenomenal job of getting his team this far down the line.
