Many greats have tried to understand why we humans love sports so much. One of the primary reasons seems to be the fierce competitiveness that organized sports provide. And if there is one football player in the NFL who exemplifies competitiveness, it’s Maxx Crosby!
The Las Vegas Raiders DE has shown time and again how he can overcome anything. Whether on the field or off it, he is a tough dude. And with this new revelation from Crosby himself, it is going to be tough to deny him that status.

Each football game is important, but when it’s the reigning champions coming for a visit. And they are your rivals! The game is special. Hence the 26-year-old battled pain and infection to take part in the clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. On his podcast, “The Rush” he has revealed a lot about this ordeal.
This is crazy: #Raiders DE Maxx Crosby’s knee was so swollen that he had to go to the hospital BEFORE their game against the #Chiefs…
“The shit was blown up like a balloon. I felt like I was dying. Like, I could not move.

On Monday, Maxx Crosby woke up with a swollen right knee and couldn’t continue his day. “It was swollen like a balloon”, the DE said. That night he received the ominous call. He said, “We need to go to the hospital in the morning. We found… there’s bacteria in your fluid”. And it looked nearly impossible that Crosby would be able to take part in the game.
Several tests were performed to determine if he was game-fit. And Crosby displayed his warrior nature. Regarding this ordeal, he said, “I can do f***ing anything. I want f***ing play”. Even though the Raiders lost to the Chiefs 17-31. Crosby himself had a good game and a nice tangle once again with his rival Patrick Mahomes.
The rivalry of old times
These two young guns have butted heads before. With Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’, Maxx Crosby was painted as a villain, especially opposite Mahomes. But Crosby neither minds the rivalry with a great QB like Mahomes nor does he mind the villain persona.

“I’m not shy about it. People can take it in any way they want. They can say I’m you know an a**hole or villain. But I embrace it, you know I don’t get you know… I really don’t give a damn, so it is what it is”, Crosby said earlier this year to Pat McAfee.
