The offensive tackle of the San Francisco 49ers Trent Williams has revealed how felt against the Philadelphia Eagles. One of the dominating forces in the 2023 NFL season, the Eagles are the first-seed contenders in the NFC conference. Before their matchup against the 49ers, the Eagles had conceded only one defeat in their entire season, but that situation has since changed. 

Trent Williams has now shared what it was like going against the Eagles. The rivalry that began with the off-season trash talk, and thrilling matchups, found its conclusion with the 49ers handing the Eagles their second defeat of the season. Regardless, it was a daunting affair and now Trent Williams has opened up about how it felt to go up against a team with that impeccable record.

Inside the NFL Twitter account shared a video featuring Trent Williams highlighting his pre-game mindset against the Eagles. Williams who brings strength to the 49ers’ offensive facet revealed to his fans that it felt like he was going to a funeral. He wanted to go in with an aggressive mindset from the get-go. 

Williams said, “A couple of weeks ago. I already knew I was going to come all black. Now I knew that was gonna be my mindset. My mindset was going to be, you know, it’s time to kill. We’re going to a funeral so it’s crazy. I didn’t discuss that with anybody else and, it just so happened that You know, other guys on the team felt the same way and it was such a coincidence.

Following the win, the 49ers sit on the perch of the NFC West division. Whereas the Eagles are topping the NFC East. Both these teams are top contenders in the playoffs. But the matchup between these teams was an easy win for the 49ers.

In a fiery match between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, Deebo Samuel’s pre-game trash talk fueled an impressive performance that saw the 49ers securing a victory with the scoreline of 42-19. Samuel, who had tagged the Eagles as his “most-hated” team, backed up his words by scoring three touchdowns. Moreover, quarterback Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns. The game also featured six consecutive touchdown possessions by the 49ers, which was a pivotal moment in the game.

The Eagles dealt with the injury of their quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was briefly checked for a concussion. However, Hurts returned to the gridiron, but couldn’t ensure a victory for his team.
