In this week’s Sunday Night Football, history was made again. The Denver Broncos took home an unexpected 24-9 victory against the top-form Kansas City Chiefs. No one expected a team with only 2 wins and 5 crushing defeats on their side to win against one of the top teams in the NFL league right now. Just after the match, Broncos QB Russell Wilson opened up about his thoughts.
This match dropped the Chiefs to a 6-2, while their opponents, the Broncos, upgraded to a 3-5. The Chiefs couldn’t score a single point in the third and fourth quarters of the game. And as the QB Russell Wilson’s comments in the post-game press conference have been circulating online, many are happily watching his moment in the limelight, while yet many think differently.

This win by the Broncos at the Empower Field at Mile High has definitely helped boost the confidence of the Broncos team. It wasn’t a close win, with the margin being pretty huge for a team like the Chiefs. The fans’ support also played a big part in the Denver team’s win. During the post-game press conference of the Broncos vs Chiefs, the HC Sean Payton as well as the QB Rusell Wilson talked to the media after securing their massive win.
When asked about the win, the QB didn’t forget to mention the crowd of the game, as they definitely “bought them some extra energy.” Wilson also seemed pretty confident about his team’s future in his answers, saying, “We set the standard today by how good we can be, you know we got lot more season left.”

He also added, “We have been saying to your guys, it’s a process, it’s a journey but we believe, we believe in who we are, we believe in the players that we have, in the coaching staff that we have.” The QB also added that they believe in the determination and resilience that the team possesses, expressing confidence about what the team can do in the near future. However, one major leg up that Denver had in the match came from their opponent’s unfortunate end; the QB of the Chiefs wasn’t entirely healthy.
Chiefs’ QB Mahomes played against Russell Wilson and Co. despite his flu
The Chiefs, who had comfortably beaten the Broncos just two weeks ago this season, struggled to find their rhythm in this match. It was primarily due to Patrick Mahomes’ uncharacteristic performance. The QB was battling the flu, and he was a late addition to the injury report, having contracted the illness from his family earlier in the week.

Despite his efforts to play through the sickness, Mahomes’ condition significantly impacted his game. This was certainly a big contributing factor to the Chiefs’ first loss to Denver since 2015. Needless to say, the Broncos’ defense seized the opportunity, forcing four turnovers and maintaining a strong front throughout the game.
