McCaffrey is one of the most elite players in the league. He led the team with 1,459 rushing yards, 2,023 total scrimmage yards, and 21 rushing and receiving touchdowns. On top of that, he aided the 49ers in sitting on the top seed in the NFC. The star RB has also finished winning 25 scrimmage touchdowns this season’s playoffs, which is the most by any player in a season since LaDainian Tomlinson.

The champ totally crushed his career games with a rushing and receiving score, just like Marshall Faulk did in NFL history. He’s now the third player ever to hit over 2000 scrimmage yards in a season for two different teams. Apart from him, the other players nominated for the offensive race are Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott. Interestingly, McCaffrey became the fifth player from the 49ers to win the award, with Jerry Rice being the last player in 1993. Other players include Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Roger Craig.

Christian McCaffrey’s prowess was also favored by many NFL insiders, including San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.
