Nobody likes to recreate a mistake. Especially when you are in the NFL week 15 and the title defense is on the line. We are talking about Patrick Mahomes and Kadarius Toney, the duo in the headlines following the Bills game. All for the wrong reasons.
Interestingly, something almost similar happened in the Patriots game. Mahomes threw a pass for wide receiver Kadarius Toney, who failed to catch the ball and it was intercepted immediately. The Chiefs won the game 27-17, but the moment probably brought a Bills’ flashback in Mahomes’ mind.

In between the change of plays, the QB seemed frustrated with Toney and looked to yell at something or someone on the sidelines. Only after someone put a blanket on the QB did he seem to cool down. And the clip, as expected, has gone viral.

The 4th quarter incident is a reminder of the ruled-out touchdown from the Chiefs vs Bills game, which cost the defending champions the game. Mahomes was furious. He even called out the officials and inevitably invited fines from the NFL.
Mahomes’ outburst after the ruled-out TD
In the dying seconds of the Bills game, Mahomes passed the ball to tight end Travis Kelce, who passed it to Toney, who ran for a touchdown. As the team was celebrating, the official review ruled out the TD as Toney seemed to be in an offensive offside position. Mahomes went berserk over the referees following the turnaround, claiming they never warned the team before.

He even stated that it was tough for players to keep on talking about officiating issues, which is not wanted for the sport. Although, a day later, Mahomes apologised for his words, insisting that the call was indeed right. The league, however, was not melting with that and imposed a $25k fine on the QB.

Luckily, the outcome of the Patriots game turned out to be in favor of Mahomes, who calmed down rather quickly following Toney’s mistake. And that stops him from leaving another bad impression on his young fans, which the QB himself termed “not a great example.”
