Adam Peters moved on from the San Francisco 49ers but made sure that he carried the Niners mentality with him. It is evident from his approach of helping the Washington Commanders, who had a 4-13 season to rebuild and find prospects that can take the team to at least playoff levels. The exciting thing is that the Washington team has the second overall pick in the coming NFL draft.

However, the Commanders are under a constraint here because this is the last day for them to get to know their prospects personally in its club facility. Concerning this, Albert Breer went on The Rich Eisen Show and spoke about what the Washington team has in mind to upgrade their locker room. It might suffice to say that the team is proceeding in an optimal direction.

Breer revealed an exciting, yet shocking news about the Commanders having 22 prospects at the same time. Of course, Caleb Williams is not on the list. But Breer mentioned that Adam Peters is trying to rebuild the Commanders’ roster in the image of the San Francisco 49ers. To do so, the team went for a “casual dinner” and went to Topgolf. The SI journalist then expanded on Adam Peters’ state of mind.

“Generally, that idea is that this is the point at which you’re going to have the most information on the prospects because you built it up and this is the last day. Today is the last day that you’re allowed to have prospects in-house for 30 visits,” said Breer.

Another reason behind this process is to save time, have an effective off-season training camp, and see how the 22 prospects gel with each other in terms of leadership dynamics. Breer tried to correlate this mentality to that of the Niners, which was Adam Peters’ home team till the last season as their former assistant general manager.

“If you look at the benefit in San Francisco, they’ve had one of the best locker rooms in the league over the last five years and I think people who’ve been there will tell you that you know this whole process that they set up out there is a part of a puzzle. So, you can see why Adam Peters with the success they had there would bring this with him.”

There is some truth to what Breer mentioned. Brock Purdy unveiled his work ethic on the Pat McAfee show and his statement reflects the mentality that Breer mentioned.

Brock Purdy’s efforts to gel with the Niners

In the wake of the upcoming drafts, Purdy went on the Pat McAfee Show and was asked about his advice for the rookies. “I think you know from me I always knew like dude, what wherever I go no matter how I get there like that’s all it matters. Like what I do when I get there. And so I kept that in mind,” said Purdy.

He later added, “All the talk of should he get drafted here, there, like none of that matters man. What matters when you get here and you make the team and you win games and that’s have looked at it you know even before I got drafted and that’s how I still look at it.” Perhaps finding a player with this sort of mentality that would benefit the Washington Commanders in the upcoming season. Hopefully, Peters’ efforts yield positive results.
