Is Tyreek Hill's desire to punch Mahomes justified, or is he just being a sore loser?

“Cheetahs don’t never stretch before they hit their prey,” is what Tyreek Hill had to say in the interview with The Dive Bar Podcast. Okay, so Cheetahs are nonchalant. But what makes them angry? Losing their prey might be one the reasons that might make them mad. It sure grinds this Miami speedster’s gears.

Tyreek Hill doesn’t like losing and nothing would stick out like a sore thumb than losing to a team that traded him after he helped them win a Super Bowl. Hill got the chance to put his grudges to rest in the coldest playoff game in the Kansas City Chiefs history. That was the 2023 season AFC wild card that the Miami Dolphins lost to the Chiefs by a mile. That irked the Cheetah.

“I love football,” said Hill. “I’m passionate about it. I want to win. I was born a winner. My whole entire life I’ve been a winner. I hate losing, you feel me. When we lost against the Chiefs bro, I wanted to go f**king punch my f**king locker a hundred times.”

Let’s go back to January 13, 2024. Let’s drop the marker at the Arrowhead Stadium. It’s negative 27F inside the 52-year-old stadium and your bones are freezing. That’s the game Tyreek Hill is referring to. The AFC Wildcard game had Miami losing 26-7. It’s no mystery that Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t do well in the cold weather. Hill had 5 receptions over 62 yards and a touchdown. Not really an ideal game for the Cheetah.

Forget 27 Fahrenheits, Tua has problems winning games at 45F or below. Did you know that Tua Tagovailoa is 0-6 in games that peaked at 45 Fahrenheits? Or that he is 0-3 in games below 45? Maybe Miami suits him better. It’s not just the cold. The Miami quarterback would have to adjust his throws because of the winds, too. Snow and high paced winds aren’t really ideal for someone who’s used to a bright sunny day at the beach.

There’s one thing and one thing only that stands ahead of everyone that wants to win a Lombardi. It’s Patrick Mahomes. The guy is on a 3-peat run and his motivations are strong. Tyreek Hill helped him with one of his 3 rings. But Hill wants more rings, and this time in Miami. If anything, he wants to go out with a bang.

Tyreek Hill is far from retirement, but what would it be like if he did?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Tyreek Hill's desire to punch Mahomes justified, or is he just being a sore loser?

Have an interesting take?

Fast forward a few minutes in the conversation. Hill was dreaming of bright lights, balling out, and securing one more ring. If he does that, his boys Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, and others will be right beside him. If anything, Hill wants to win with his guys, because their behinds are on a “hot seat” and the expectations are high. Don’t worry, Cheetah got it all figured out.

“I don’t want nobody to feel like we living perfectly over here, we just doing out thing. But all of our a*ses are on the hot seat. I feel like anyway,” said Hill. “I’m trying to go out on top with a ring. I’m trying to feel good because to be that was like one of the best feelings ever, man. Especially like, if we’re able to do it here in Miami, man, it’s going to be special.”

Even after missing a game last year, Hill led the league with the highest yards (1,799) and most touchdowns (13). The Dolphins are gearing up for a new season with Odell Beckham Jr. as their supporting cast. Tua broke the NFL record with his 54-yard pass to Hill in the last season. Can he break some more with Tyreek Hill this season? We’ll have to find that out, especially with Hill trying to renegotiate for a new deal that will put him on that $35 million mark. Interesting things are ahead for Hill and the Miami Dolphins this year.
