As the regular season wraps up, we saw the most anticipated divisional rivalry moving further. The Vikings vs. Lions game had everyone talking this week. Jared Goff-led Lions crushed Kevin O’Connell‘s guys in the final game with a huge 31-9 win. They’ve been killing it on the gridiron this season, and there was no way they were going to let the Vikings stroll into the divisional round like that. This loss is going to sting the Vikings. They just weren’t up to the mark in this game. And young WR Jordan Addison‘s dad was quick to point out the shortcomings of his son’s team.
Addison Sr. was not at all happy with how his kid performed. Expressing his disappointment over the loss, he already had a punishment ready for Jordan. His dad isn’t even going to wait until the WR gets home for his punishment. Wondering what Jordan’s punishment is? Addison Sr. will be making his kid do push-ups on the plane, on the way back home. And not only the WR, he gives the same punishment to coach Kevin O’Connell too. “6 targets 1 reception 0 yards. I want pushups the plane ride back nonstop. The defense needs to do them with you for allowing Gibbs to get 4 touchdowns. Also, KOC can do them with ya because he got out-coached,” wrote Addison Sr. on his X.

Well, that’s such a ‘dad’ thing to do. Jordan’s father is keeping it old-school with a little tough love. Both these facts can’t be denied. The offense and defense of Kevin’s team fell short against the Lions. QB Sam Darnold couldn’t perform like usual, failing to score any TDs. The entire offense crumbled as Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs set the gridiron on fire with three touchdowns.
Post-game, the Vikings HC shared his stance on his team’s shortcomings in the last game.

The Vikings fans were hoping that Sam Darnold would bring them the divisional win, but the Lions didn’t let that happen. Had the Vikings won, they would have gone straight to the divisional round. But now, Kevin O’Connell’s team will have to take the wild card route. The Lions secured the No. 1 spot and skipped the wild card round. For a team like the Vikings that has been performing well for so long, a 31-9 loss is quite embarrassing. Reflecting on his team’s performance, the HC admitted that they made some mistakes that could have been avoided.
“We did have some ball out kind of plays uh where that were effective at least moving it between the 20s and things like that but once again this came down to um our ability to put seven on the board in the first half and take advantage of a short-field turnover takes advantage of getting the ball in the 50 yd line,” said Kevin. Jordan Addison’s dad might have a point, maybe he should make the whole offense do pushups instead of just the WR and coach. Honestly, if the offense plays like this in the postseason, they might be heading home way too soon.
” You’ve got to turn those things into some real uh points against a team like that you know if we’re kicking field goals all day against that offense you know it’s just we’re going to have to score some touchdowns eventually to give ourselves a chance to win,” added the HC. For now, though, the division’s No. 1 spot has slipped out of their hands. They’ll be facing the Rams in the Wild Card round. Hopefully, the offense will get it together by then.
