Reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and sensational QB Jalen Hurts faced each other at Arrowhead. This was the season’s most awaited battle as the Eagles played against their nemesis the Chiefs, after the last Super Bowl final. This time around, the game played around the same script, but the two teams reversed their roles.

While it was the Eagles that took the lead in the Super Bowl final, here it was the Kansas City Chiefs that asserted dominance in the beginning. Last time it was Mahomes’ end-game efforts that sealed the deal for the Chiefs.  This time around, it was an exceptional comeback performance by Jalen Hurts that got the Eagles their revenge. Despite the on-field rivalry, there was a post-game heartfelt moment featuring the two QBs that grabbed everyone’s attention.

Mahomes’ advice to Jalen Hurts

The Chiefs had the game in their grip at halftime when the scoreline read 17-7. But the Eagles broke their shackles and produced two game-winning TDs after the break. Furthermore, the Chiefs were unable to score a single point in the second half. In the end, the Eagles beat the Chiefs 21-17 and buried the ghosts of the Super Bowl final. Despite the loss, Patrick Mahomes shared a sweet moment on the field with QB Hurts.

Mahomes came in to hug his counterpart. As the two hugged each other, Mahomes let out a boisterous congratulations to Hurts, saying, “Great game. Good luck the rest of the way man.” He even gave him a piece of subtle advice, mentioning, “Do your thing.” The NFL shared the loving moment on the social media platform X.

Mahomes blessed Hurts with good wishes as the season is far from over yet. Even though the Chiefs lost the game, there’s a positive thing for both teams. Both teams are already past the tough phase and are somewhat at ease due to their respective scores.

The Chiefs and the Eagles: The hard part is over!

The Eagles have now registered nine wins, which is the most by any team in the current season. Hurts has recorded 15 TDs and closing in fast to the 2500 passing yard mark. With seven more games to go, it’s pretty sure that the Eagles will secure a playoff berth this time too. Hence, the games ahead will surely be looked up as preparation for the next stage more than a challenge overall.

On the other hand, the Chiefs have lost their third game, yet they maintain a comfortable spot at the moment. While they were the best in the AFC, they still have to prove their worth in the upcoming games to ease their way into the playoffs.
