Patrick Mahomes is ready to face, arguably, the biggest challenge of this season. The Kansas City Chiefs will battle against their arch-rivals the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead. Both teams last met in the Super Bowl final in February. Alas! His dad is rooting for the opposite team.

Last time the two teams met, despite leading the game for three quarters, the Eagles eventually lost 38-35; all thanks to Mahomes, who scored two game-winning TDs in the last quarter for his team. Now, as the two mega forces clash once again at the Chiefs’ home turf, the Chiefdom will surely be cheering for their favorite team. But, Mahomes may have lost one of his biggest supporters at the wrong time.

However, there is one fan who is probably showing support for the wrong side. It’s no other than Mahomes’ dad as he was found cheering for the Eagles in the video shared by MLFootball.

In the video, an enthusiastic fan wearing the Eagles green shirt can be seen sharing the screen with Mahomes’ dad. As a cue she even prompts Mr. Mahomes to repeat what he initially had voiced which is “Go Eagles.” Although it is hard to believe that Mahomes’ father will ever ditch the Chiefs in his wildest dreams, this time he made the exception.

However, the NFL arena is aware that the son and father duo have shared a strong bond. Given their atheletic abilities, the two are often find a lot in common, from baseball to football. In fact, Patrick Mahomes Sr. has been found supporting and encouraging his son from time to time. The Super Bowl LVII showed a tiny glimpse of the same when the two tightly hugged each other.

Nonetheless, today it seems that the support might have shifted toward men in green. However, it remains to be seen who will eventually come out victorious in this tough battle. Whether it will be Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs or the team that lately has Mr. Mahomes supports!
