Is Aaron Rodgers out of touch with the future of football by dismissing flag football's Olympic potential?

Aaron Rodgers and Joe Burrow may be kings on the gridiron, but when it comes to their Olympic flag football ambitions, they might want to pump the brakes!

That’s the vibe U.S. Flag Football QB’s sending, calling out the NFL stars for assuming they can waltz into the 2028 L.A. Olympics and claim their spots. “I think it’s disrespectful that they just automatically assume that they’re able to just join the Olympic team because of the person that they are,” Doucette fired back. “They didn’t help grow this game to get to the Olympics.”

With flag football making its debut in the 2028 Games, a lot of players—Rodgers and Burrow included—showed interest. But the guys who’ve been grinding in flag football (often out of the spotlight) aren’t happy. Doucette made it clear: “Give the guys who helped this game get to where it’s at their respect.”

The assumption that NFL players will dominate in flag football? Doucette ain’t buying it at all. “We just don’t think they’re going to be able to walk on the field and make the Olympic team because of the name,” he said. Doucette’s confident Team USA can bring home gold without the NFL guys’ help, saying, “It’s not that we need these guys… We’re already great with who we have.”

Doucette’s defending his turf, but Rodgers and Burrow are in full swing to suit up for the country and play flag football.

But wait—here comes Burrow, not far behind. Just like on-field, he’s following Rodgers into this Olympic dream. “I really want to play for the Olympic flag football team,” the former LSU star asserted. He even threw in some names: “Me, Ja’Marr, Justin… my friends out there playing football.” It’s like an NFL All-Star team but on a global stage. And Burrow made it clear—not winning gold would be ‘embarrassing.’

With Burrow’s fire and A-Rod’s savvy, Team USA would be unstoppable. It’s a QB clash on the world stage, and the hype’s real. Could 2028 be the breakthrough for American football? Stay tuned—gold might be just the start.
