Washington Commanders decimated the Cincinnati Bengals in week 3. They took the 21-13 lead in halftime and just kept at it. The final scores read 38-33. The hero of the win was the rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. He made 21 of 23 passes with 254 yards and 2 touchdowns. A few days before the game, Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt trash-talked Daniels, saying that they (Commanders) were keeping it simple for him.
Who Dey Nation hoped that the team would walk the talk. However, it didn’t happen. After the loss, the CB had to eat his words and said, “No Ma’am, I did not regret it. And I did not mean anything malicious out of the comment. It was made big than it was. Umm, yes, I can eat my words. We did take an L today. As a team, it was sort of college offense, very athletic.”

Taylor-Britt’s demeanor was in stark contrast to the wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Last year, the WR trash-talked the Browns. However, the Bungles lost. When everyone tried to get a response, he became furious and said, “I called their a– elves and we just lost to some elves.” We must say that the CB was way more respectful in his reply.
Daniels’ was superb and didn’t look like a rookie. He showed levels to Cam Taylor-Britt’s defense. With a 91.3% completion rate, the rookie broke Dak Prescott‘s rookie record of 88.9% pass completion. He finished the game with a 141.7 passer rating. Not only a passing game but his ground game was also spot on. Daniels had 39 rushing yards with 1 touchdown.

Commanders’ cheeky reply to Cam Taylor-Britt’s comments
“They keep it really simple for him. Nice college offense, Kingsbury’s the OC“, these were his exact words. Many fans were pissed when he said it was a ‘college offense.‘ But on the field, the attack was formidable. With 356 yards, they maintained a 6.2 yards-per-play average. Maintaining a conversion at 5 of 9 third-down attempts, their 5 of 6 possessions turned into touchdowns.

After the game, the Commanders came up with a perfect response to the Cam Taylor-Britt. Posting a photo of Daniels and Brian Robinson Jr., they captioned it, “Not bad for a college offense.” Well, they have the bragging rights now. Kliff Kingsbury, Commanders’ offensive coordinator, too, had the last laugh.
When the reporters asked the OC about the CB’s comments before the game, he said that he hadn’t heard it, but mentioned that Taylor-Britt can have his own opinion. Looks like it pumped them up a little. Chase opened the scoring for the Bengals with a touchdown, but once the ‘college offense’ took off, it couldn’t have come to a halt. Now, the tables have turned on the Bungles. With 0-3 down after the first 3 games, the Bengals are under tremendous pressure now. Can they come back? We’ll find out next week against the Panthers. Stay tuned for more of such stories.
