Remember 8th September Tyreek Hill fans? Well, of course you do, as the Dolphins WR got arrested for apparent speeding before taking on the Jaguars in Miami. Although it could have been a regular speeding ticket, the league’s Cheetah was pulled out of his car onto the ground. As videos of him getting dominated by the police became viral.
And remembering that incident, some of the kids decided to recreate that arrest on Halloween. Re-tweeting a post that has three kids, one of them dressed as Tyreek Hill with a mullet. While the other two posed in police officers’ uniforms, handcuffing the Dolphins’ WR. Hill came up with his approval of the costume that caught his eye, “A+ with the mullet 😁”

Although Hill can be seen appreciating the arrest costume, it was an incident that took a heavy toll on him. Opening up on his experience, Hill later said, “I will say I could have been better. I could have let down my window in that instant. But the thing about me is. I don’t want attention. I don’t want to be cameras out, phones on you in that moment. But at the end of the day, I’m human. I’ve got to follow rules. I’ve got to do what everyone else would do.”
Going back to the incident, the video footage released by the Miami-Dade Police Department showed Hill being slow in rolling down his windows. This led to Hill being forced out of his car and handcuffed face-first on the ground. Considering the brutality that the officers showed, Hill said, “Now, does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not. But at the end of the day. I wish I could go back and do things a bit differently.”
Well, he even wanted Danny Torres, who put handcuffs on him, to get fired, “Gone. Gone….. He’s gotta go, man.” While the incident sent shockwaves to the NFL, many of them voiced their concerns about such unnecessary brutality.

Such was the gravity of the incident that occurred outside the Hard-Rock Stadium. Hill’s arrest even got national attention as officers pulled him onto the ground. Later on, as the Miami-Dade Police Department released the footage, the Dolphins star QB Tua Tagovailoa said, “It was a little emotional for me, hearing Tyreek’s voice in the footage.”
But Tua wasn’t the only one who opened up their thoughts post-incident. As offensive coordinator Frank Smith defined the whole incident as shame, “It’s a shame that had to happen that way. When you spend all your time with these guys, you want to be there for them all the time to help. For me, like many guys, you wish you were there to help as well.”
Well, the Dolphins’ head coach, Mike McDaniel, also found himself getting visibly upset after seeing the recordings: “It’s been hard for me not to find myself more upset the more. I think about it. I think that messes me up, honestly, to be quite frank is knowing that I don’t know exactly what that feels like.” Even Dolphins safety Jevon Holland chimed in with his thoughts, “I’m 24. There’s been a bunch of very unsettling and disturbing videos, body cam footage over and over again since Twitter has been a thing…I would like to be more shocked and surprised. But I’m not.”

Although it’s been almost two months since that unfortunate incident, Hill would surely want to avoid anything like that down the line. While he enjoys his Halloween with a little throwback, the Dolphins would want to get the better of the Bills next week. As they try to keep their hopes of postseason qualifications on track.
