For the first time since 2019, Tyreek Hill fell short of receiving 1,000 yards in a season this year. But he achieved another low when the Jets kicked the Dolphins out of the playoff race last week, marking Hill’s 1st NFL season without a playoff. Despite Dolphins GM Chris Grier denying any trade requests from Tyreek Hill, the 30-year-old WR didn’t hold back after the Jets’ loss. “I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.” But seems like Hill has not brushed off the Jets’ loss lightly and is keen on moving on from the Dolphins.
While NFL experts are already speculating on the next home for Cheetah, Hill may have hinted at his future team in just 10 words. As the Miami Dolphins’ offseason has started, the star WR is enjoying the vacation with family and friends. Hill, who signed an extension in Aug 2024 – guaranteed two years in 2024 and 2025 – still has 2 years left in his contract with the Dolphins. But things might go down south for both parties after their playoff miss this season.
On Thursday, Hill posted on X, “3-hour drive to Tampa about to be a breeze.” This was enough to create chaos in Miami with a firm belief that Hill may be getting traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Though there is no explanation has been given by the player, do not be surprised if this comes true. But how many options are there for Hill if he wants to move on from Miami?

The first franchise discussed in this direction was the New England Patriots. The Patriots have a 132 million cap space for the upcoming season. Following the Patriots, another expected franchise where Tyreek Hill ‘contractually’ has is the Washington Commanders ($103 million cap space). Apart from this the Atlanta Falcons are also interested in Speedster as he has Georgia roots. And other than the three above, the Cincinnati Bengals also can be a good option for Hill, as the great company of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will be fabulous. But as we discuss Tyreek’s trade speculations, will there really be a change in his contract?
Well, when Hill signed an extension with the Dolphins, he signed a 90-million-dollar deal. In the contract, $59,000,000 dollars are guaranteed with an average salary of $30,000,000. Though it was a three-year deal in reality it was a two-year deal for 53 million dollars as guaranteed money. So, for this year, Hill has got half part of that and the remaining $26.85 million is still there on the contract.
The Dolphins have to pay Hill this amount only, if they remove him from the roster, otherwise he will receive 1 million dollars as a roster bonus. So, it’s well and good if the Dolphins keep this WR for one year. But as per experts, there are many options for Hill to get traded for and he will not have much contractual headache.
As Tyreek Hill is going through a whirlwind of debates, his former teammate has started a new wave of predictions for Hill.
