Tyreek Hill says Jaylen Waddle is a top-five diva—agree or just another wild take?

Tyreek Hill just threw a bomb into the NFL world. The Cheetah, known for his speed and outspoken nature, has labeled his Dolphins teammate Jaylen Waddle a ‘diva’.

In a tweet reacting to JPA Football’s five current biggest diva rankings in the NFL—where Stefon Diggs, Brandon Aiyuk, Diontae Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, and George Pickens took the top spots—Hill added, “Add [Jaylen] Waddle to this list we got something.” Clearly, the West Alabama standout ain’t holding back on his opinion of Waddle’s diva status.

Yahoo Sports’ Matt Harmon and Fantasy Points’ Ryan Heath raved about Waddle’s fantasy value. Heath pointed out the CFP National champ’s impressive metrics, noting, “He was sixth in first downs for a run last year and top five in yards for outrun. His pro route stats are eye-popping because he’s that good.” Despite a concussion early last season, Waddle’s efficiency remained elite.

QB Tua Tagovailoa also sung praises for the wideout, highlighting his impact on-field. “Jaylen didn’t get as much burn as Tyreek, but it tells you about his competitive nature. Jaylen was super excited for Tyreek’s touchdowns and final drives, and was great on the field.” Even with Tyreek Hill commanding attention, the young receiver found ways to shine.

Stat-wise, Hill leads the league with 103 explosive plays over the past two seasons, while Waddle ranks seventh with 68, despite injury setbacks. In yards after the catch, Hill is second (1,203), and Waddle is seventh (957). Waddle’s rookie season saw him set a reception record (104), though now held by Puka Nacua. Since then, he’s upped his game ferociously. Under HC Mike McDaniel, Waddle led the league in yards per reception (17.9) and saw his average depth of target jump to 12.7 yards.

Jaylen Waddle’s game’s on fire—three straight 1,000-yard seasons—and his PFF grades skyrocketed from 78.3 in 2021 to 90.3 last year. The Dolphins clearly see his worth, locking him down with a juicy contract extension.

Waddle’s contract extension sets Dolphins up for a Super Bowl run

The Dolphins and Waddle signed a 3-year, $84.75M, locking him up until 2028. The 25-year-old WR’s cashing in big time with $76M guaranteed. This mega deal cements him as a major player alongside Hill in Miami’s high-octane offense.

Waddle, who was picked sixth overall in 2021, just leveled up to one of the league’s best top-paid wideouts. With a $28.25M average annual salary, he’s ahead of Davante Adams ($28M) and just behind the Cheetah ($30M). Miami star’s guaranteed money is the third-highest ever for a receiver—trailing only A.J. Brown ($84M) and Amon-Ra St. Brown ($77M).

Rich Eisen and other analysts have huge expectations about the Phins’ Super Bowl shot. Eisen’s got a bold message: “This is the time to go and get this division and make sure they do not play a game on the road in the playoffs unless it’s the AFC Championship or the Super Bowl.” He’s confident that with Waddle in the lineup, Miami’s looking ready to make a serious push.

As the Dolphins fire up for the season, everyone’s watching to see if Jaylen Waddle can deliver on the hype and help Miami chase the top spot.
