Is Dylan Raiola the next Patrick Mahomes? Can he live up to the hype?

The internet has officially lost its mind! A photo of Nebraska Cornhuskers QB commit Dylan Raiola has surfaced, and it’s uncanny how much he resembles the Chiefs’ superstar Patrick Mahomes.

The resemblance is so striking that even former Chiefs speedster Tyreek Hill was left dumbfounded! After Nebraska Football shared a photo of Raiola on Twitter looking all cool and collected with black shades and luggage, Hill re-tweeted that post, “Boy ain’t no way 😂 @Patrick Mahomes.” Raiola even had Mahomes’ signature curls and dressed just like him.

It’s like someone pressed ‘duplicate’ on Mahomes and out popped Raiola. The 19-year-old QB, who recently flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska, has the same laid-back vibe and even shares a similar build with the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

The highly-touted 2024 recruit has been turning heads on the football field. Showcasing his prowess as both a passer and runner, the 19-year-old threw for over 3,300 yards and 32 touchdowns (while rushing for nine scores) during his sophomore season at Burleson High School. The following year, Raiola transferred to Arizona at Chandler High School, where he excelled in playmaking ability, passing 2,435 yards, 22 TDs, and 5 interceptions.

While everyone’s buzzing about Raiola being Mahomes’ clone, it’s the QB commit’s football chops that really steal the show. As the young gun develops his game at Nebraska, everyone’s watching keenly to see if he could actually step into the big shoes of his football doppelgänger, Mahomes.

Raiola aims to step into Mahomes’ shoes and elevate his game

The Nebraska Cornhuskers’ prospect has been quite forthcoming regarding his admiration for the three-time Super Bowl champ. A few months ago, he told Sam McKewon of Husker Extra that he wanted to workout with the Chiefs’ QB and his trainer, Bobby Stroupe. “I just want to be around greatness. Obviously, he’s going down as one of the greats already. But I’m just trying to take it all in and elevate my game as much as I can,” said the 19-year-old. Guess the guy’s ready to soak up knowledge from the GOAT himself!

Think about it: Raiola wants to be in the same room as the guy who’s basically written the playbook on how to be a superstar QB. As the young gun enters his freshman campaign, he’s looked at as the potential savior of the Nebraska football program. And the kid’s got the tool—he’s a five-star recruit with a cannon for an arm.

The Huskers have been in the doldrums for way too long. Can Dylan Raiola actually be the savior they’ve been waiting for? Time will tell.
