Tyreek Hill doesn’t just play football—he lives for the competition. Whether it’s on the field, in a footrace, or even in a debate about athleticism, the man thrives on proving a point. And if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that he’s never short on opinions.

Not long ago, he made waves by throwing down a bold challenge to Noah Lyles, questioning whether the Olympic sprinter could actually outrun him. Now, Hill has shifted his focus to the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. And let’s just say he’s not exactly handing out compliments. While the sports world raved over Mac McClung’s dunk contest theatrics, Hill fired off a response that had fans buzzing—because in his eyes, the performance wasn’t all that special.

Sharing a Bleachers Report post on X, that celebrated McClung’s dunk over a car, with a head exploding emoji, accompanied by “OMG!!,” it seemed that the Miami Dolphins star was far from pleased. While sharing it, he wrote, “Not impressed i seen Ethan Bonner do it.”

In the video, the commentators were quite in awe of McClung, remarking, “That is real-life flying.” He was also compared to the legendary Vince Carter. And the panel unanimously gave him a perfect score. Some even joked that he deserved a 51 instead of the standard 50. But, it failed to impress Tyreek Hill.

The NFL speedster dismissed the hype stating he had seen his teammate, Dolphins CB Ethan Bonner, do the same. Bonner, 25, entered the NFL as an undrafted agent from Stanford University with whom he played in the Pac-12 Conference. There is absolutely no record of him ever having played basketball at a competitive level. Currently, he is with the Dolphins contributing to the team’s defense.

However, with his remark, Tyreek Hill has added fuel to the fire as he debates over athleticism across a range of sports.

Tyreek Hill’s bold challenge to Noah Lyles

The semi-serious rivalry between Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles intensified after the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was initiated by Hill’s claim that he carries the capability to outrun the Olympian. While Lyles has initially dismissed it, he later posted a series of conditions prior to accepting the challenge. He demanded a major venue, television production, big sponsors, and a non-traditional race distance, other than 100m.

Is Tyreek Hill's confidence justified, or is he biting off more than he can chew?

Tyreek Hill rose up to it, agreeing heartily. He remarked, “As long as we ain’t putting people’s mamas in it, I don’t care.” Further, he continued, “We can go as far as far can be. We’re here for a good time.”

But, the event is still in the works, being a part of “Super Serious On Sight” hosted by Terry Crews. The final conditions are yet to be discussed. Adding fuel, Lyles made a bold statement during the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

Uncovering his bib, he exposed the message, “Tyreek could never.” Hill laughed it off on his social media, posting, “Get a load of this guy.” Michael Johnson, the four-time Olympic champion, was also critical of Hill’s challenge to Lyles. He remarked, “I’m not putting somebody like Tyreek against world-class (track) athletes.” While the showdown is yet to happen, fans are ardently waiting for their favorite stars to go head-to-head. Do you think Cheetah will come out on top?
