“I’m out, bro.” These were the words of star player Tyreek Hill after the Jets crushed the Dolphins‘ last hope of making it to the postseason. Speaking to the media after the final game, Hill sounded frustrated about not achieving the kind of success he had with the Chiefs. While some Phins fans were left heartbroken after the WR hinted at a possible trade. Others took to social media to bash him for his ‘ego.’ Hill has always found himself in hot water because of his behavior. And now, once again, after a disappointing season, he’s at the center of controversy after venting his frustration about the team’s failure.
After his last game on Sunday, Hill said, “It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.” As usual, social media didn’t let it slide. But this time, the wide receiver’s words didn’t just offend netizens, but also some former NFL players. So much so that Hill had to step up and clear his stance on the whole mess he created in the first place. In a cryptic post on his X, Hill wrote, “Coaches and teammates know my dedication every single day,” after facing all the backlash.

But the netizens are not buying it. Replying to Hill’s post a user wrote, “Do they? You basically told your teammates you are better than them by checking out of the game and then throw a tantrum at your press conference & on X saying you gotta get out of Miami.” We understand the disappointment of not making it to the postseason. But is leaving your team after an unsuccessful season an acceptable move?
While people continue to bash Hill, Miami‘s general manager, Chris Grier, denied any trade talks with the wide receiver.
Dolphins GM cleared the air on Tyreek Hill’s trade talks
“Hey, I chased the money, and now I’m unhappy because the money doesn’t fill the void. Maybe winning is more important than money, and now he realizes that,” said former NFL player Richard Sherman. Remember when Tyreek Hill was asking for a big payday from the Chiefs back in 2022? When they didn’t agree, he asked for a trade. He got a lot of heat back then for his antics too. There’s a reason Dan Patrick called him another ‘Antonio Brown.’ Brown made headlines for ending his career by abruptly leaving the field during a 2022 game between the Buccaneers and the Jets.

Anyway, now that he wants to move again, the Phins GM Chris Grier has shut down any trade talks with Hill. “Mike and I both had conversations with Tyreek here yesterday. Productive conversations. I will keep those between us. The one thing I would say, in a frustrating season, he was very emotional. … I think all of that with him playing through his injury just kind of bubbled to a point,” said Grier.
Clearing his stance on Tyreek’s comments, he said, “But he never asked for a trade with me.” Well, maybe not with Grier, but he put it out there in the press conference for the whole world to hear. Hill said what he had to, and now the Phins personnel are left to deal with all the drama. Good luck to them for cleaning up his mess and having to negotiate with him. Because if Cheetah decides to leave the team, it’s going to hit Miami’s salary cap pretty hard.
