With $40M in the bank, should Dak Prescott grant Trevon Diggs' $200K request?

Dallas Cowboys recently signed a record contract extension with their quarterback Dak Prescott. The 4-year $240 million deal has made him the highest-paid signal caller in terms of annual salary with $60 million every year. Fans and teammates are pumped up. And they are making requests for expensive gifts. We’re talking about Trevon Diggs.

The cornerback recently appeared on The Edge Podcast hosted by his teammate Micah Parsons. When the linebacker asked Diggs if he has been sized up, the CB replied, “I need a Christmas gift.” When Parsons asked his choice from a Rolex, AP, or RM, he (Diggs) replied, “He (Dak Prescott) good for a Richard Millie.” The host laughed and chimed in with his request as well.

Parsons was quick to send in his request as well by saying, “I want something simple. Just give me a little plain jane gold Rollie (Rolex).” At the end, both were joking as the LB said, “Dak didn’t get us wrist-sized, so, we’re like whatever bro.” A Richard Millie watch costs $200k on average. But with $240 million in hand, it is just a chump change for the quarterback.

While Dak Prescott’s contract extension is massive, Diggs himself earns enough to afford a RM. In 2023, he signed a 5-year $97 million contract extension with $42.3 million guaranteed. But it can go up to $104 million with all incentives. He also got $21.25 million signing bonus.

Last year, the CB was captured on camera yelling at the QB. While many speculated some issues between both players, The signal caller clarified the incident. Dak Prescott claimed that he invites such behavior as a way to get the players to open up to him. He said that it was his way of leadership through which he likes to know his players’ personality.

Diggs, on the other hand, claimed that this was his way of making the practice sessions competitive. Showing his love for the QB, he said, “At the end of the day, that’s my brother. I love Dak to death. There’s nothing behind it. It’s just competitiveness. It’s just football.” Well, he is also ecstatic after the QB signed the contract extension.

Cowboys players don’t need to worry about the watches. The franchise recently became the highest valued in NFL with $10 billion evaluation. Only thing they are missing for a long time is a Super Bowl. If they win it, everyone will get showered with such gifts. Can he do it this year? Looks like it.
