As the NFL season enters the second half, each win and loss are monumental. And with the humbling that the Kansas City Chiefs received at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead, the Chiefs are tumbling down. Losing the top spot, while the Eagles maintain their dominance.
Still, 7 more weeks to go ahead with the regular season. 32 teams in total but only 14 get the privilege to play the playoffs. 7 from each conference AFC and NFC. A tough contest, but a contest from which the Chiefs seem to slipping down.

The defending champions usually rule with an iron fist not only in their division but in their conference too. With the 17-21 loss against the Eagles, the Chiefs have lost their conference top spot to qualify for the playoffs. If this continues, Patrick Mahomes and Co. will not have a top seed in the playoffs, hurting their chances this season further.
In NFC, though, the Eagles are still soaring high. Maintaining the top spot after an impressive win on the road. Still, a few more games to go ahead, but the form is dictatorial for all the teams. And the Eagles 9-1 should remain in the top position. It’s a different story for the Chiefs though.
The Chiefs have lost 2 of their last three. One of them against the out-of-form divisional rivals, Denver Broncos. They are making a slow stride toward the potential playoff spots as well. But the top 7 teams are geared to fight them and any other contenders off.
Every team makes the last push for playoffs
For some teams, the question is not about qualification; they have almost guaranteed that, but it is about the seed position. And the taking the top spot in the AFC, displacing the Chiefs are the Baltimore Ravens. They dominated the Cincinnati Bengals last week 34-20 to get to this position.
Each division’s top team is obviously in the playoff spots. The Jaguars (AFC South) on 3rd, the Dolphins (AFC East) on 4th. The same is the case in NFC as well. The Lions (NFC North) on 2nd, the 49ers (NFC West) on 3rd, and the Saints (NFC South) on 4th.
The rest of the spots in the AFC are:
5th – The Browns
6th – The Texans
7th – The Steelers
With the Bills rising quickly in the hunt to displace one of those teams and take their spot.
