Among the top picks, the Chicago Bears have made headlines with their bold draft strategy. With the 1st-round pick acquired from the Carolina Panthers, the Bears are set to select Caleb Williams, the electrifying quarterback from USC. Williams brings a dynamic skill set to the table, combining accuracy with playmaking ability, making him a perfect fit for the Bears’ offense under new coordinator Shane Waldron.

In a surprising move, the Washington Commanders are projected to draft Jayden Daniels, the standout quarterback from LSU, with the second overall pick. Daniels’ stellar performance during the 2023 season, capped off with a Heisman Trophy win, has catapulted him into the top ranks of this year’s draft class. With an exciting group of wide receivers awaiting him in Washington, Daniels has the potential to provide stability and firepower to the Commanders’ offense.

The New England Patriots are expected to bag JJ McCarthy, the talented quarterback out of Michigan, with the 3rd overall pick. McCarthy’s precision passing and mobility make him an ideal fit for the Pats offensive scheme under head coach Jerod Mayo. Despite being ranked lower on some draft boards, McCarthy’s potential as a franchise quarterback is too enticing for Denver to pass up.

The Arizona Cardinals are poised to address their quarterback situation with the selection of Maye, the towering quarterback from Penn State, with the 4th overall pick. Maye’s prototypical build and dual-threat ability make him an intriguing prospect for the Cardinals, who are looking to revitalize their offense under new leadership. The Pats finished last season second-last in Total QBR (31.6). and 30th in yards per attempt (6.1).

How will the other picks materialize?

Let’s do a quick rundown of the 28 other picks as well. Joe Alt, a standout left tackle prospect from Notre Dame, could start his career at right tackle for the Giants and form a dominant duo with left tackle Andrew Thomas. Olumuyiwa Fashanu, a promising offensive tackle prospect, is poised to anchor the Titans’ offensive line as he allowed only one sack over 21 career starts. Harrison, 6-4 and 205 lbs could provide immediate support to the Bears’ quarterback and receiving corps. Taliese Fuaga, a versatile offensive lineman, could bolster the Jets’ offensive line and provide protection for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Dallas Turner, an explosive edge rusher, would replenish the Vikings’ pass-rush depth and contribute to their defensive success should Kirk Cousins return to the fray in 2024.
