Exciting days are ahead for the Washington Commanders in the upcoming draft. The team has a total of 9 picks, including a second overall pick. The representatives of the team revealed how the off-season transactions made certain things easy for the team and now they can focus on the 2024 Draft.
This time the Commanders have the support of Adam Peters as their GM. Peters had previously helped the Niners build a solid locker room that propelled them to the Super Bowl. The Commanders plan to do the same. In a recent presser, Adam Peters pointed out how the Commanders are exactly where they want to be.

The reporter subtly asked Peters and his associate whether they would be drafting a QB in the upcoming draft. The duo was asked, “How close are you to finalizing which player do you want and when would you like to, and need to settle on a guy?” Schrager tried to be as definite as possible in his answer.
“Yeah, we’re real close………I’m pretty process-driven, process-oriented. So um, we have uh, we have to debrief on our 30 visits with, with the whole staff, talk about everybody there that we haven’t done that yet.”
Adam talked about some medical formalities that the team has to go through as well and more importantly, had to consult Dan Quinn for his input. “So, um, we have a few more things DQ [Dan Quinn] and I will huddle up and, and probably have an answer really sometime next week now…… So, there’s no rush with that but um I think we’ll have a pretty good idea what we’re doing early next week,” expanded Peters. This is the same sort of mentality that Peters had during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Washington Commanders are hard at work
Adam Peters and his squad invited 22 prospects for 30-minute visits in the Commanders’ facility recently. Reportedly, all of them went for “casual dinner and Topgolf.” This was the team’s effort to gather as much information about the players and get to know how they behave and react to their surroundings.

This is just a part of a bigger picture that the Commanders might have for the upcoming season. Adam Peters was also responsible for evaluating Brock Purdy on his combine day. The decision he made propelled the Niners to a Super Bowl. Purdy gave his team a chance to win a Lombardi in his second season in the league.
Hopefully, the Commanders will turn the table and at least have a chance for playoffs this season.
