When the Dolphins selected Texas Longhorns QB, it was a big hit for Tua Tagovailoa. Looking back at Tua’s concussions and other injuries, there was a bit of confusion regarding the Florida-based QB. However, Mike McDaniel is not taking any risk in introducing a new quarterback to the locker room. But big news hit the rookie quarterback.
“With the 231st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Quinn Ewers, quarterback, Texas.” This is how the NFL announced Ewers’s seventh-round selection to Tyreek Hill’s team. After the NFL team selected him, his sacrifice revealed another aspect of his college football career and his love for NFL football.
According to the latest update, Quinn Ewers will receive a salary of $800,000. That could have been $8,000,000 if he had continued in college. Per rumors, Ewers’s NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals have earned him more than $8 million. But that’s only considering a one-year salary. According to Spotrac, the five-star college football draft prospect will probably earn around $4.33 million in total. And that is significantly lower than his NIL deals.

However, these numbers vary across different media sources, and there are many rumors about the exact figures. What’s certain is his financial loss—there’s no doubt Quinn will lose more than 50% of his potential earnings compared to staying in college with NIL deals.

A few days ago, Football Fever reported another piece of news (or rumor). It said, “Back in January, Quinn Ewers turned down an $8M NIL transfer offer and decided to enter the 2025 NFL Draft… [he] is projected to sign a four-year deal worth less than $1M per year, according to Spotrac. Ewers left roughly $7M on the table by not playing one more year of college football.” Well, that was brave.
After getting picked up, Ewers expressed his feelings, saying, “I’m excited to learn from this franchise and see how they do it.” Mike McDaniel, the head coach, also sent a strong message regarding the QB pick, saying, “It’s beneficial because you can evaluate some nuances you typically have to forecast. The way he orchestrates the offense, from the motion timing to anticipating things, there’s a fit there. We’re excited to get him into the program and start working.” Now, after losing a lot of money and experiencing the drama of sliding down in the NFL Draft, Ewers will start his career as a backup QB.
Hopefully, he’ll get a few opportunities during the regular season to showcase his worth and work toward becoming QB1. Meanwhile, the Dolphins shocked everyone when they said they are in talks with Bills CB Rasul Douglas. Let’s dive in to know more.

Tua Tagovailoa’s Dolphins are approaching the Bills’ CB
Two weeks ago, Jalen Ramsey made headlines for his availability as a free agent. But currently, the Dolphins are looking for a good trade-off to land him on any team. And while his update was setting down, Tua Tagovailoa’s Dolphins made another announcement. They are in talks with veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas after drafting a rookie Jason Marshall Jr. in the fourth round.

To talk about Rasul Douglas, the CB has played two seasons with Josh Allen. Also, he had helped the Packers when Aaron Rodgers was there. Looking at his stats from 2024, Rasul Douglas has made 43 solo tackles and one forced fumble, along with five passing defenses.
The Super Bowl winner is in close talks with Tua Tagovailoa’s Dolphins. Let’s see if the Dolphins could land him or find another player.
