Before the season started, during the Bears HOF game against the Texans, MNF announcers, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were excited. They were waiting to watch Caleb Williams on the gridiron. Aikman had even predicted that if the rookie stayed healthy, he would have 4000+ yards. Things have taken a complete 180° turn.

On December 16, during the Bears week 15 matchup against Vikings, Aikman trolled the QB for his mistakes. When Keenan Allen failed to collect a ball, he said, “Where is Caleb Williams throwing the ball?” That’s what made fans angry who called him out for his bias against Williams.

Even when his O-line, particularly the Left Tackle, failed to protect Williams, and the QB got sacked, Troy Aikman said, “Sacks are a QB stat. If you don’t want to get sacked, throw the ball.” He didn’t stop there and continued.

When Caleb Williams missed the receiver, he said, “That’s the worst pass I’ve ever seen in my life,” while the network showed the replay. But Aikman had a completely different reaction when Sam Darnold missed a pass which was, “He usually doesn’t miss those.” That’s unusual.

The reactions on social media showed that the fans knew they were trying to harm his reputation. And some didn’t mince their words. It was crazy.

Fans troll Troy Aikman for his prejudice against Caleb Williams

While one fan wrote on X, “Troy Aikman sounds like a m—- on the internet talking about Caleb Williams,” another one commented with a tinge of sarcasm, “Yeah Aikman it is all Caleb’s fault for his sacks. It’s time for him to STFU. We have no line! #Bears.”

A few members of Da Bears brought Troy Aikman’s NFL stats. One fan shared a photo of Aikman’s stats and commented, “I want to be completely clear: Troy Aikman was, at best, an average QB and I don’t want to hear any of his “advice” for Caleb.” Another fan trolled him for his performance in his rookie year and wrote, “Aikman who had 18 interceptions and 0-11 record in his rookie year also has been condescending about Caleb.”

However, many fans doubted that there were bigger things at play. One fan started a conspiracy theory by claiming, “Troy Aikman has the fanbase turning on Caleb Williams. This is how it starts. One announcer with an absolute erection to bury a QB #Bears #DaBears.” The hate fans gave him was wild and unbelievable.
