Back in early 2024, New Heights was absolutely crushing it. Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s podcast was everywhere—people couldn’t get enough of it. To top that off, they even inked a massive $100 million deal with Amazon’s Wondery. And secured exclusive rights to distribute and monetize their content. Their content? A blend of football insights and offbeat humor that captivated a diverse audience. And get this, we aren’t just talking about the NFL fanbase.

Launched in 2022, Travis and Jason’s podcast wasn’t just about football. Their candid discussions on personal topics, like relationships and life after the NFL, resonated with listeners. And to make things more interesting, the New Heights podcast managed to find an audience in pop culture as well. Courtesy? Travis’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

No wonder the Kelce brothers’ podcast was ranked among the top 5 podcasts on Apple Podcasts in the first quarter of 2024. According to Edison Research, the New Heights podcast ranked 4th in the U.S., marking a significant rise from its previous position of 67th in Q3 2023. Now, fast forward to April 2025, and things have shifted. The reason? Well, New Heights isn’t even in the top 10 anymore, which is wild considering how high it once soared.

Well, this isn’t the first time their podcast slipped out of the top 10. After hitting the top 5 in the first quarter of the last year, Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast took a pretty big dip right in the second quarter. We are talking a dip from 4th to 14 in a span of just four months, according to Edison Research. Things did get a little better by the end of 2024, with it jumping back up to 11th, but still not quite cracking that top 10 spot again.

Now, here we are, again. New Heights failed to land in the top 10 podcasts for the third straight time and many are speculating the reasons behind this sudden drop. Well, for starters, the NFL season wrapped up with the Chiefs‘ losing the Super Bowl. On the other side of spectrum, with Era’s tour already wrapped up, there’s a high possibility, the number of listeners (mostly Swifties), declined.

Safe to say that it’s unwelcome news for the brothers who just signed a nine-figure deal with Amazon’s Wondery.

Is the Kelce brothers' $100 million podcast deal justified despite their recent ranking drop?

Jason and Travis Kelce inked a $1o0 million deal

When we talk about the Kelce brothers, we see two guys grinding on the gridiron for their respective teams and winning Super Bowls. Whether it’s Jason Kelce at the Center for the Eagles, or Travis Kelce stretching the field for the Chiefs, Kelce brothers have a knack of making waves on the field. Sure, Jason now has hung up his cleats and transitioned into an ESPN analyst. But that doesn’t stop him from still bringing the heat.

And we are talking about his weekly chat with his brother on the New Heights podcast. Ever since the duo launched their show back in 2022, the New Heights is touching sky-limits. Whether through a rapid growth in followers and subscribers across platforms, or snagging a nine-figure deal with Amazon’s Wondery. Back in August 2024, New Heights signed a three-year $100 million deal with Wondery, that kicked on August 28, 2024.

The deal gave Wondery the rights for global distribution of for all existing and future audio and video episodes of the podcast. The deal terms also allowed Wondery the, “exclusive rights to monetize and distribute audio and video podcast episodes,” as well as “create international audio adaptations.” And if we break this deal down, it comes down to around $33.3 million per year.

The interesting part? The most amount Jason Kelce (a six-time All-Pro) made in a single season was $14.25 million. As for Travis, the tight end’s last deal with the Chiefs was two-year $34.35 million. So yeah, with this $100 million deal, the Kelce brothers are snagging a good chunk of money. Now, let’s see if they manage to reclaim the top 5 spot on Apple Podcast’s chart in the next quarter.
