USWNT ends 12-year gold drought—Does this mark a new era for women's soccer in the USA?

Kayla Nicole’s heart beats red, white, and blue after the USWNT’s golden comeback! Travis Kelce’s ex went into legit patriotic mode with all-out support for the USWNT, which just ended a 12-year gold medal drought at the Paris Olympics.

Nicole was fangirling pretty hard on her IG story, gushing over the team’s performance. “She’s f**cking dawg. A DAWG. USA! USA!” she cheered, dropping the F-bomb to emphasize her enthusiasm. Following that, she posted a nod to her roots in her next ‘Gram story with, “I’m rooting for everybody black!” It’s clear the social media star ain’t just a fan; she’s a supporter.

While Nicole was cheering hard for the USWNT, the team itself was busy rewriting history. After a letdown at the World Cup, they came back with vengeance under new coach Emma Hayes, going undefeated to snag that gold. The USWNT’s always been a juggernaut, with five golds since 1996—a record no other country can match. But the U.S. hadn’t won gold since 2012 in London. The 2016 Rio disappointment and the bronze in Tokyo left a bit of a sting.

Enter Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith, and Mallory Swanson. This young core, under the guidance of coach Hayes, injected new life into the team. “We’ve had tough years… but we’re back, and hopefully on top after this game,” asserted forward Sophia Smith. Carli Lloyd might hold the record for most Olympic goals, but it’s the current squad that’s captured the nation’s heart. And Kayla Nicole? Well, she’s clearly part of that fan club now.

While Kelce’s ex’s sports love is evident, she’s also made it crystal clear: dating athletes? Nope, not on her agenda.

Kayla Nicole calls a timeout on athlete boyfriends: “Out of the athlete stage”

Travis Kelce’s ex is done with dating athletes—and she ain’t looking back. The fitness guru and former Lakers host, who famously dated the Chiefs star for five years, is closing that chapter of her life. During a sit-down on the Behind the Likes podcast, Nicole made it clear: “I’ll never say never, but I fully, wholeheartedly believe that I’m out of the athlete stage.”

Have an interesting take?

Nicole and Kelce called it quits in 2022, and it seems she’s ready for a new kind of romance. “I do think I’m attracted to men in positions of power,” the 33-year-old said, hinting that she’s open to dating someone in a different high-profile field, like a record label executive or movie producer. She’s still game for sports events, just not as the plus-one in a jersey.

Looking back, Nicole says hanging out at games and rubbing elbows with the sports crew was a blast, but she’s all about a fresh start now. Even though she and Kelce have split, she’s still tight with his crew—especially Brittany Mahomes. They’ve shared some close moments, including hitting up Brittany’s bachelorette weekend.

In her words, “I still love my KC people and my KC community so much.” But as she moves forward, Kayla Nicole hopes everyone will respect her space and let her focus on what’s next.
