Travis Kelce in Hollywood—Is he the next big NFL star to conquer the entertainment world?

After two back-to-back Super Bowl wins, Travis Kelce is set to take the Hollywood stage soon! Kelce has been in the off-field news since his relationship with the pop star Taylor Swift. Additionally, he made a stage debut with his girlfriend at her Eras Tour concert at Wembley this year, making the crowd go crazy with his acting performance. Now a couple of months later, this time he is taking a step further by dipping his toes in the filming industry again.

According to the reports by multiple outlets, Kelce “is attached to star in Loose Cannons, an action comedy in development at Lionsgate.” The major details of the film are currently under wrap, as it’s expected to be out before the filming begins. Additionally, as the NFL 2024 season is about to begin, the filming might be delayed due to Kelce’s busy schedule.

The “Loose Cannons” scripted by Timothy Dowling (Pixels), will be Kelce’s third Hollywood project after his Amazon’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” series, which will premiere on Wednesday, October 16 with three episodes; and his second drama project, the “Grotesquerie.” This ‘Grotesquerie’ is the new horror drama that will premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 25.

Earlier in 2023, it was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had signed with a $7 billion giant company, CAA, for representation off the field. Shortly after that, he got his hosting gig and then his first major acting job in May 2024 – a role in Ryan Murphy’s high-profile new FX horror series – “Grotesquerie.”

Now, he is set to debut in a full-featured Hollywood action-comedy film soon. So, all in all, it seems the NFL’s star TE is about to live his acting dream! But this news came as a surprise for many because it’s interesting to note that Kelce, who is excited about his Hollywood gig, rejected the NFL’s documentary series due to his personal choices.

Well, the excitement and fan craze would have been at new heights. Yet, despite all the excitement around his name, Kelce turned down the chance to be in “Receiver.” Why?

Well, Kelce, who’s already juggling football and his podcast, revealed on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast that he’s had enough of reality TV. He said, “After [Patrick Mahomes] did it, I did get asked about it. I’d rather just play ball, man; I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality sh-t, dude. I’m out on that sh-t.
