The Kansas City Chiefs have been invited to the White House for the third time to celebrate their back-to-back Super Bowl victories. Last year’s visit was memorable for many reasons, including when Travis Kelce was intercepted by Patrick Mahomes from delivering an impromptu speech! However, one question remained: what did the TE want to say on the podium?

The answer was revealed in an earlier episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, ‘New Heights,’ when Jason teased his brother for hoodwinking the President and going for the mic. “It was the oldest trick in the book, and Joe fell for it; I mean, come on!” Jason continued, enjoying, “Pat knew right away when you pointed, he was like, “There ain’t nothing over there.” This is a flanking move if I know – I know Travis, and he’s a flanker.“”

Travis admitted that, in hindsight, he is grateful to his teammate for stopping him from grabbing the mic, “He’s seen that one before. Shout out to Pat, man, for keeping me from embarrassing myself at that podium in front of the world.” As to what the Chiefs star was dying to say out loud to America, it was what he had heard Joe Biden and many Presidents before him say at the podium: “To my fellow Americans.

Obviously, the president at the podium. It’s iconic, right?” explained Travis, “It’s iconic, and how he usually addresses the nation [is] ‘To my fellow Americans., That’s all I wanted to say, dude. That’s it… I shouldn’t have started off with ‘I’ve always wanted to do this.

Jason admitted that it would’ve been a “showstopper” moment. However, Travis might still get a shot at the feat as the Chiefs gear up for their second visit to the White House. Who knows, he might be joined by a certain pop star. Well, the Swifties inside the White House certainly hope so!

Will Taylor Swift be the +1 on Travis Kelce’s White House visit?

In what should have been the third time, the Kansas City heroes will meet the President. Their 2019 Super Bowl win couldn’t be commemorated at the White House due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, though, the interest has doubled because of curiosity about whether we will see the NFL’s buzzing couple in the presidential mansion.

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House secretary, recently shared how it’s not just the Swifties outside but also inside the office that are hopeful for Taylor Swift to attend. “I think the Swifties behind these double doors are hoping that Taylor Swift makes an appearance,” she said. “I can’t speak to her schedule, but I know there’s a lot of interest in this building and on campus.” Taylor Swift’s attendance remains uncertain owing to her Eras Tour, which is currently underway in Europe.

There remains a question mark as to whether we will see Travis Kelce with his beau at the White House or not. However, we have seen the singer fly in and out in time crunches for her boyfriend, like in the Super Bowl, so when it comes to Swift, one can never say never!
