Things are getting heated up on the gridiron! Travis Kelce had gotten the ball rolling for the Chiefs in the first quarter. But then, in the second quarter, something happened. One Travis got a penalty, while the other resulted in someone else getting a penalty. What are we getting at?
Two penalties during the course of the game could’ve been one of the big reasons for the Chiefs’ win tonight. So, what really went down on the gridiron?

The game kicked off with an intense vibe. Both teams showed discipline in the first half. Things took an interesting turn late in the second quarter when Travis Kelce managed to ruffle Kyle Van Noy’s feathers. Just under two minutes were left on the clock before halftime. The Chiefs forced the Ravens to punt, giving Patrick Mahomes and the crew a prime opportunity to extend their lead. At the start of the drive, Kansas City was already ahead at 14-7.

The drive hit a hiccup from the get-go. Ravens’ DC Mike Macdonald dialed up the pressure on the first down. RB back Isiah Pachecho gained only one yard on the rushing attempt. But here’s where it gets spicy. After the play, Van Noy and Kelce got into a tiff, leading to a flag on the field. A head butt from the LB marked the first penalty for the Baltimore defense.
The result? The Chiefs got a free 15 yards and a reset of downs. But then it got worse.
Patrick Mahomes suffers a forceful hit

The Ravens were desperate attempt to slow down the Chiefs before halftime. But they chose the quicker and dirtier route. After the Van Noy drama, another soon followed. Mahomes dodged DL Travis Jones and threw the ball. But he swung his hands sideways which met with Mahomes’ facemask. The hit was so hard that he crashed to the ground.

This unsportsmanlike hit gifted the Chiefs an additional 15 yards. And they made it closer to the end zone. Unfortunately for Baltimore, it put them in perfect distance of a field goal. Harrison Butker for the goal! The Chiefs were now leading 17-7. As it panned out, the Ravens lost the game in the end. Thus ended their dreams of winning their first-ever Super Bowl.
