Travis Kelce Going Through Most Awful Period of His Career Amid Taylor Swift Romance

The Kansas City Chiefs may have won against the Cincinnati Bengals on New Year’s Eve, and are on their way to establishing a three-game winning record, but one player is falling behind. Travis Kelce, tight end for the Chiefs, is struggling to find the mojo that once saw him light up the gridiron. Is it because of the distraction caused by the billionaire singer-songwriter that he is dating?

One TV analyst came out in support of Taylor Swift and said that such claims are “unfair” and “hypocritical”. So, how bad of a rut is the 34-year-old player in?

Is Travis Kelce on the decline?

On the New Year’s Eve showdown, Travis Kelce only recorded a paltry 16 receiving yards. That’s his lowest output in a game against the Bengals since at least 2015. It was also his lowest receiving yards in 7 games! And on Sunday, he extended his no-touchdown streak to six games.

After the loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Skip Bayless was quick to point out that maybe Taylor Swift was acting as a distraction for the Chiefs squad. In his show UNDISPUTED, Bayless said Taylor Swift, who can be seen“cheering for her man” at Chiefs games, is now “starting to distract the Chiefs.”

But one person did not buy it and wrote against the wave of hate that the 12x Grammy Award winner would receive every time Kelce made a mistake on the field or the Chiefs lost a game.

TV analyst defends Taylor Swift

Lexie Ridgen said that whenever Swift, whose love life is the subject of many of her songs, loses out on winning a Grammy Award, “fans do not blame Swift’s love interests” She added that if the audience turned for the next leg of her Eras Tour decreases, people will not blame Kelce for it. “They need to just stop.”

A player or any other celebrity’s poor performance should be blamed on the player and not the person they are dating. She also gave the example of Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. Brady played a high level of football and scooped up many awards despite being married to her. San Francisco 49ers star running back, Christian McCaffrey, is dating Olivia Culpo, a model and an actress, and is still breaking records and has earned himself a frontrunner position in the NFL MVP race.

The person a sports player is dating usually becomes the lowest-hanging fruit to pin all the blame on. But maybe it’s time fans point fingers at the players themselves.
