Travis Kelce, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his brother Jason Kelce, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently had a fun and surprising conversation on their podcast, “New Heights.” They discussed the news that Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, might be selling a minority stake in the team. This news was reported by Bloomberg, a trusted business news source.

While Jason showed interest in buying the minority stakes of the Eagles and backing out of his TV career Travis humorously expressed his wish to buy his team Chiefs.

Jason brought up this topic by saying, “Eagles are for sale.” Travis, surprised, responded with, “What?” Jason then explained that Jeffrey Lurie was thinking about selling a minority stake in the team and jokingly asked Travis if they should try to buy some of it. Travis replied, “I’d rather try and buy the Chiefs or be a minority stakeowner in the Chiefs.” Jason pointed out that even a minority stake would be very expensive, saying, “I don’t think we can afford it.”

Jason then mentioned that he would give up his TV deals if it meant he could own part of the Eagles. He said, “I will back out of the TV deal right now if you tell me I could own the Philadelphia Eagles.” However, Travis noted that buying a minority stake is very complicated. He referred to Tom Brady’s difficulty in buying a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders because it interfered with his TV deals.

Like Jason Kelce Travis Kelce is no stranger to the entertainment world. He is set to host Amazon Prime’s new show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?“. He will also act in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series “Grotesquerie.”

Travis Kelce’s Hollywood aspirations

He even hosted “Saturday Night Live” on NBC last year. Travis told PEOPLE that he is very much interested in doing more acting and exploring Hollywood after his football career. The 34-year-old expressed that the experience was unlike anything he had encountered before. He felt immense gratitude for the opportunity, as he hadn’t anticipated enjoying scripted comedy or the entertainment industry as much as he did until he immersed himself in the process of being on set and preparing for the role. Other than that, he also said that he would want to be in broadcasting once he is done playing.

Despite his growing involvement in entertainment, Travis has reassured his fans that football remains his top priority. He told Extra, “I’m every bit as motivated to get back and win another Super Bowl. That’ll always be my number one job until I retire.”

This exciting conversation between the Kelce brothers highlights their ambitions both on and off the football field. While owning a part of an NFL team might be a far-off dream, it shows their interest in expanding their horizons beyond football.
