Did Travis Kelce make the right call by shielding his mom from potential game show embarrassment?

She is the most loving. And she is just an absolute saint of a human being.” Travis Kelce said this about his mom, Donna Kelce, expressing his love and admiration for the single mother. There’s no doubt in how close the two children have been with their mom since the start. And probably that’s why the Kansas City Chiefs tight end decided to protect his momma over others.

Week 5 is over for the Chiefs with a win, and now the team has advanced towards their Bye Week. However, utilizing this opportunity, Travis Kelce kicks off his Hollywood career by hosting the much-awaited Amazon Prime show “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?” This show will welcome popular adult contestants to tackle sixth-grade-level questions. So, it was obvious for the media to ask Kelce about whom he would like to invite from his family to the show to answer the questions.

To which the TE said, “I would love to get somebody in my family up there. Either my dad or my brother.” Yes! Travis Kelce skipped counting his mother. Why? Well, he answered it in his further statements, saying, “Because it can get a little embarrassing if you don’t know, like, the simplest of questions. And I don’t want to put my mom in that position. So, it’s either my dad or my brother.

Well, that’s true; when somebody misses even the easiest questions, that can turn out embarrassing for them. Hence, opting not to invite Donna Kelce, Travis chose to protect his momma from such embarrassment. However, he thinks dad Ed and brother Jason Kelce would carry up these situations easily, as he said, “My dad would do pretty well.” But for Jason, the tight end paused a bit before finally expressing his thought: “He’s got some pretty good Trivia knowledge, so I think he’d fare pretty well as well.”

The “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” game show series “will be premiered on Prime Video on October 16 with three episodes, followed by one new episode weekly.” And Travis Kelce, who himself thinks he can “probably make it to fourth or fifth grade,” is eagerly waiting for the episodes to drop in. Also, if he is given a chance, he will surely invite his dad and brother to the podium, putting his momma first to protect them from potential embarrassment.

However, Travis Kelce isn’t the only one who chose Momma over other members. Even momma Donna, too, every time made sure to choose her children overall.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s mom always put them first!

Donna Kelce raised two NFL stars, but for Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce, she’s much more than that. This is also evident from a recent incident when Glamour decided to honor her at the Women of the Year Awards. And guess what? Her sons couldn’t wait to gush about her.

Mama Donna!” Travis shouted with excitement during a video call with his brother. He called her “the most loving” and “an absolute saint,” adding that she made life look easy and fun for them. Not even him! Even Jason too expressed his admiration for Donna Kelce, reflecting as a parent himself. He shared how much she sacrificed for them, always putting her kids first, and admitted, “Mom kinda nailed it.” He even sees her as his inspiration and says that if he could be half the parent she was, he’d be doing a great job.

On the other hand, for Donna Kelce, although she has mentioned that raising children was far more challenging than any job, she is happy to see her sons excel in their careers. And it’s clear that she has succeeded in that. That’s why she is being honored with the Women of The Year award in the moms category!
