It has been around 10 months since Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and their “enchanted” love story has been the hot topic of the NFL town. Even the Chiefs teammates like Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have embraced their romance in front of the media. The latter with a fresh perspective regarding how the two celebs find solace in each other.

The Chiefs head coach, Reid, who earlier called himself a cupid for the two stars, joined Episode 1 of the Scoop City with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini and longtime NFL QB Chase Daniel. When asked how Kelce manages all the attention he is getting after the pop star’s entry into the league, Reid responded, “I think it’s great for him.”

The 66-year-old continued, “He can handle. It is a matter of fact. I think he probably loves it to a point. I think there’s a great escape for him. I said that about Taylor too. I mean she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be at the show and Travis can do that when he goes to her concerts.” In a way, their respective realities on the field and the stage help them become a source of comfort for each other.

Reid also expressed that maybe Kelce can be the “water boy.” In this way, he can support her without being the main focus. This dynamic also allows both of them to find a balance between their high-profile lives and moments of normalcy.

Meanwhile, Reid earlier admitted that he loves seeing the two lovebirds together as well as has also advised Kelce to “just treat her [Swift] like a queen.” Moreover, Swifties know it and Chiefs fans are aware that the Big Red played the Cupid for his player.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce arguably are the hottest NFL couple right now, and some believe that head coach Andy Reid played a cupid in this fairytale. Well, that might be true if we consider the coach’s comment on their love story. Kelce talked about this during the September 27 episode of the “New Heights” podcast. He mentioned how Coach Reid humorously claimed responsibility for bringing them together, saying, “And then you got Coach Reid telling everybody he’s cupid and he’s been manifesting this the whole time.”

It was all when after the Week 3 game, Reid joked about setting them up also noting that he has met Swift before. He acknowledged that he had met the Swift family while coaching the Eagles. Taylor Swift and her father, who are from West Reading, Pennsylvania, are reportedly Eagles fans, which could explain the connection why Reid said this.

In fact, it was later revealed that after listening to Reid’s story of meeting Swift before, made him feel a little bad. However, the tight end is happy to find Reid’s blessings for their “Swelce” love story!
